In the Times is a report on the expenses of BBC executives from 2004-09 the amount claimed for Party political events is as follows:
Eight Labour Party events totalling £861.83
Two Liberal events totalling £165.48
Two Conservative events totalling £38
I have always said that the BBC is a left wing organisation. Here is some black and white evidence.
There is now a website devoted to the Biased BBC and it makes some interesting reading. There is a forum too.

There has to be changes and I have no doubt there will be. No longer should the TV tax be for the exclusive use of the BBC but it should be used to promote public interest TV and to set a quality standard across all TV stations.

barry
most of us still prefer the beeb for our news, they seem fairly consistent.
they always bash those in power.
without them we would be left with the commercial stations that have to satisfy their sponsors and advertisers.

i think that our fuhrer has explained that many times before keith.
i agree that barry just made a bland party political statement in this case.
recently, he has been posting some very interesting stuff.

The funding of the BBC has been in the news and I thought a thread on that would be interesting from the bias angle and whether they deserve all of the licence money. Not exactly a bland party statement, howard.
Keith - you just keep on repeating the same old, same old - why not just get in with the discussion topic, or not bother at all, it is getting very boring hearing that all the time from you when someone says something that you dont want to hear (or other people either).

What a weak shallow little site - over 75% of posts by the same poster and most of those seem to be from 2007

I'm trying BAZ to encourage more posters.
old posters tell me they don't post anymore because of the boring one sided politics which doesn't interest them.
So its not just me that gets bored with it.
but there you go, i have a right to an opinion dont I ??

getting back to posts 1 and 2, there was a lady on the box from the beeb talking about the licence fee, and that it all should stay with the beeb.
i agree with that statement, but she went on to say that the beeb was in the entertainment game.
my understanding is that they are a public service broadcaster.

HOWARD
I would even agree if the BBC opened up as to how much they are paying there celebrity stars 9with our dosh)
which at the moment they refiuse to do
And should peopled like Jonathan ross(not just him, but hes one of many examples)
get paid so much?

quite right keith, i switched on the box earlier and was confronted by graham norton.
good entertainer and all that, but must cost the earth.
where the beeb are at their best is in great doumentaries and history programmes, used to be sport.
they do make the effort with introducing new comedy shows, sadly they are usually on bbc 3 and 4.
not every licence payer has access.
good luck to messrs norton and ross, but surely commercial tv should be paying for them.
despite the protestations of loads of money barry, the beeb still does reasonable current affairs and politics programmes.

Let us hope and pray that the era of stupidly overpaid 'stars' is over. It is utterly rediculous for the broadcasters to use that old red herring, they will simply go elsewhere..bloomin well let them go elsewhere, let em sod off. We want the money spent on quality programmes so when the stretch out the license fee begging bowl again we want guarantees that the money will be spent on programming not stars and not over elaborate expenses.
Jeez though, £3million pounds a year goes on Anne Robinson. As Kelvin Mackenzie said on the BBC's Question Time .."who the hell negotiated that contract!!?"
By the way Mark Thompson our current Director General, paid £65 for cufflinks for Jonathan Ross as a present, and charged it to expenses. As if Ross, on his salaries, needs a pair of extra cufflinks at OUR expense!

they have started at the bbc keith, a hideously expensive bottle of shampoo was sent to bruce forsyth on his 80th birthday.
heaven knows what they will send when he has a new syrup transplanted.
in response to paulb, surely commercial broadcasters can do what they want with their money?

BBC left-wing bias is not imagined.
Five Live morning phone-in presenters are among the worst - left-liberal clones who look, sound and think the same, except perhaps for Nicky Campbell.
