How about KCC giving annual grants to Parish councils who can then liaise with each other and Stagecoach or Arriva and run mini buses into towns to connect with the main services?

Funny you say that Howard as when a Thanet company addressed River Parish Council they suggested they might consider giving them funding .I soon stated I pay enough Counci, tax to KCC why should I pay River Parish Council to support their service when it wasn’t free to us oldies.

Just stumbled upon this on the KCC website.
"Community transport
Community transport gives you access to a bus or car service if you can't access public transport.
Parishes, charities and community groups can set up transport schemes to meet the needs of their own communities. Download our community transport guidance toolkit (PDF, 867.4 KB), for signposts to organisations that can help you. You can also contact the Community Transport Association for further information and support.
Funding for community transport
Kent County Council is currently running a capital grant funding scheme for parish councils wishing to set up their own community transport scheme or develop an existing one. Applications need to be submitted by 30 March 2018.
Parishes are invited to bid for capital funding to assist them in setting up their own community transport scheme. They can also bid for a minibus. Parishes already running community transport schemes which they would like to improve or extend, are also welcome to bid. Apply online below or download the paper form and apply by email or post."

At the end of the day we get what we vote for and the Tories despise public services and their staff, ask any nurse passing by?

These new timetables are failing miserably, a good example is to stand at the Dofras Place stop in Maison Dieu Road that has a large number of routes passing by. None of them arrive at the time they are scheduled to when I have stood there and many are overcrowded.

Thank goodness for a town councillor that speaks his or her mind. We currently have one that fails to understand that peoples opinion sometimes differ and throws a hissy fit blocking people on social media and reports fellow councillors to the Town Clerk.

I don't know what is happening with the 102 service but we keep getting two together rather than 20 minutes apart, lots of unhappy passengers and a lot of the time the drivers get the brunt of their anger.
