Brian, if Burlington House came down in six months you would have pre-demolition trucks clogging up the A20 at the height of peak season. Plus how can any govt support Dover road improvements if the first thing you do is cause massive construction disruption. It won't be coming down this year its just election spin which most people on this forum seem gullible for many years.

jack have a heart, lorries being used for demolishon wouldn't use the main road to load/unload now would they.besides the road network at the back of the eyesore would be good enough.
it will be brought down floor by floor because of the asbestos risk,

That picture of Burlington House is great. It makes Burlington House look even more of a dominant eyesore than it is. They say things come in threes and two eyesores well known to me have recently been demolished: New Walk House Leicester and Northampton Bus Station lets hope Burlington House will be the third to go in 2015.

Excellent news sends a message to other more upmarket retailers that Dover is ready to do business.

That layout looks very odd. I would question there is enough parking spaces for the cinema, let alone for Next etc...

You should dive into the 60 or more documents on the planning application and find the transport strategy - we're mostly going to be walking, cycling or taking the bus.

I counted about 343, hard to do on screen, plus about 72 for the hotel car park.
The frontispiece artists impression also shows cars parked between M&S and the river, a bit of a discrepancy there.

Not good at all and worrying until you look at who was interviewed, Paul McMullan together with a picture of his unkempt pub, plenty of better places than that to show.
The authors of the article obviously set out to do a hatched job on Thanet and Dover and succeeded.

Thanks for the link Brian fascinating read, mostly true about corruption in Thanet although there is regeneration with the stunning Turner Centre and with the great volunteers that have brought back Dreamland from the grave.
As already mentioned to depict the shabby pub of Mr McMullan as representative of Dover is rather disappointing.
