Obviously the CPRE have money to burn if they can afford to employ expensive lawyers yet again.

CPRE only pay the first £.10,000 of legal fees the taxpayer sorts out the rest so this could go on for ages.

They are trying to protect greenfield sites Brian, but I am not sure about what colour Farthingloe comes under. It was a greenfield site before the landowner allowed Eurotunnel to build there. I have been told that the agreement at the time was for the site to revert back to greenfield once the tunnel was complete and the land not needed.

Then it is about time the rules were changed, £10,000 would be a lot to a small charity but peanuts to a large one like CPRE or any other large charity.

Typical DDC lunacy. Burning tax payers money because they haven't gone though the correct legal planning process.

The judge made a decision knowing this so I cannot see what more DDC can do.
"Dover District Council's planners recognised that the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) would be seriously damaged if this development goes ahead, without any mitigation of the harm that would be caused.
"Planning permission was granted on the basis of a 'composite' planning application which would include the housing development at Farthingloe and a contribution to work at the Western Heights Drop Redoubt.

Howard is correct the workers site under the planning agreement was to be returned to a Green Field site .Our MP has stated on his twitter page CPRE are wasting tax payers money .I think he will find its called democracy .After the recent floods you will see you cannot defy nature. Too many houses are being built on flood plains .Developers donot always ensure the drainage system works.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to anything Charlie says nowadays, just a propagandist for his party. Over Christmas someone daubed some "anti war" stuff on the Tory office in Walmer, he blamed the Labour party for it.

And Mike Eddy rebuked him for it. Like rival gangs in a school playground. And people wonder why political parties are losing members. A plague on all their houses!

Does look like that but Mike Eddy had the right to deny such a nasty attack. I think we can safely forget Charlie as our MP from now on, he has climbed the greasy pole and is much more interested in his career in the Commons which is on the up.
His recent intervention on the railway issue was important but happened during recess, whilst Parliament is sitting he will be wanted there.

This is turning into a soap opera now I thought once the Secretary of State gave approval that would be it.

I am sure there must be more important sites the CPRE could be focussing their attention on, I think this is simply a waste of their resources.

To some of us this is an important site.Unless people fight to preserve this area in years to come Dover will join with Capel. There are a lot of houses planned for Capel. We already have Folkestone stretching up almost to The Valaint Salior There are still brown field sites which could be used.

According to Charlie it is council taxpayers money that CPRE are spending.
I thought it was brown field Sue, the old Channel Tunnel site.
