There's a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it's very far away
But it's growing day by day

Dover one big road work
Spoke with a visitor to Dover in what is ahead closed town centre with quite a number of empty shops
His perception of what he thought Dover was like was much changed after seeing so many empty buildings

Yet to find a single person who thinks the millions of pounds spent on this project will benefit Dover. In fact the complete opposite.

Like electeic cars the bus, is unsafe I think they need to withdraw both car and bus till they have the prove that they are 100% as for me they are out of my price range but even if not I would stay with petrol

Hey, these Reform Party candidates, are they laser-focused or what? Howard Cox, who is running for City Hall in May's mayoral election in London said: "I predicted a few years back that rushing into new idealistic based choices for our vital public transport infrastructure must be tempered. The rosy picture of the promise of zero emissions has clouded ill-informed politicos’ judgements to ignore safety issues and the cost of replacing reliable and proven safer lower cost diesel buses. I call upon a full moratorium on all electric public vehicle transport fleets across the UK, until a guarantee of passenger safety is secured."
So whilst the DVSA recall concerns the HVAC system and Alexander Dennis have yet to identify the root cause, Mr Cox has already pinpointed it as an EV problem; tres insightful.
FWIW, Bristol REs and Leyland National (diesel-engined) buses had an annoying tendency at one time to catch fire in the engine compartment, and I witnessed one incident and saw the aftermath of a few more.

1. With reference to the bus-gates it's going to be interested if they expect ANPR to keep the local ferals off it on their various unregistred transport!
2. As for the self-immolating buses, unfortunately the man on the burning Clapham Omnibus wearing his tin-foil hat against 5G cell-phone signals (and his elected representative) seem to wallow in their ignorance and general fear of modernity fueled be some of the finest journalists our Poltyechnics have produced and ChatGDP.

The ‘local ferals’ won’t be deferred by cameras - too good at avoiding any recognition. Foreign HGV drivers won’t care either. Physical barriers are needed but no one listens to other suggestions….

Keith- don’t fret that it’s upset a lot of people because those in charge simply don’t care! They pay lip service to consultations- there is a wealth of evidence to support that the design of any poll/ consultation/ questionnaire can be made to provide the outcome you desire. I’m sure you’re already aware.
I and many others have battled and argued against Fastrack to the point of exhaustion but to no avail.

Totally agree. A phenomenal waste of money and cutting a swathe through the countryside. Feel so sorry for the residents of Newlands.
People move to a rural location because they want to be away from hustle and bustle but the Government seems determined to concrete over the entire county. Sadly I don’t see that as progress
