His true colours are barely contained within his not so thick skin.

Hey McSweeney, would you like me to post some of the correspondence you and I exchanged pre election?

Hey Barrington, you're another that hides behind a pseudonym, everybody knows where they can find me.
And Howard, do you remember some of the chats we had? They're all in writing of course.

We could exchange so much David my old friend you forgot to put this in your election leaflet whilst banging on about the homeless.

#16 report
These oxygen thieves are the scourge of society: we house them, feed them, clothe them and give them enough money to buy mobile phones and strong lager, to cap it all we give them drugs. And what do they give in return - they walk around town spitting and swearing and intimidating people. If a man landed from Mars he wouldn't believe it.
I have the solution which I recommend Cllr Watkins takes up:
Employ two men, one with a wheelbarrow, send the other to Jeremy Stattersfield for a humane killer, you can work out the rest.
And let the good folk of Dover applaud as another waste of space and money is wheeled through the streets to the tip.

David I despair of you ever earning the respect of your betters, you should learn to address people correctly, that would be a fine start

Haha!
You're rattled now Howard aren't you?
Those musings about the leader of DDC and "Keefy" will wait for another day. All written down of course.
Mind your step.

Certainly a great deal of hope for this Historical Town Of Dover.
With the hysterical input on this Thread.

Could we have a set of historical stocks? Visitor attraction and increased custom for the fruit and veg stall.

would like to see the letting agents who have the two shop units on there books get on to the owners/landlords to clean them up,the windows inside are disgusting.and I bet the insides are bad to.for reference the old vodofone shop and what used to be clairs across the road from marks & spencers.

I would like to see our council take a more proactive approach, they have the use of section 215 notices, but seem reluctant to use them.

Brian Dixon. There are the three shops along there. Directly opposite Marks and Spencer - Just stand outside M & S and look across - they are disgusting.
Photographs should be taken and action too. The other shops and business owners are in despair because no-one seems to take notice or act on their behalf. There are many good, worthwhile and hard-working businesses in Dover High Street. Soon to be Dover's OLD High Street.
It is all well and good have grand slams of ideas, and exhibitions etc. Peacock strutting it is. However, all these goodly pushers should get back to basics, and put pressure on the culprits who are letting this High Street sink. BACK TO BASICS AND THEN WORK ONWARDS AND UPWARDS.
Clean windows, rubbish and cardboard removed from doorways. Clean these shops up, it is essential.
If you look upwards along Cannon Street, it is unique. So much accommodation is empty, and
unused - I don't know about the Ghosts of Dover, they should concentrate on the living and the Here and Now.

I am not sure how effective 215 notices are, very little seems to happen when they are issued. The Town Team have been in touch with the owners of these dilapidated shops but got very little response going by memory.

This is a very complicated situation, just about everything suggested on here has been done already with varying degrees of success. The Town Team cleaned empty shops it had access to and decorated with posters but mail and litter soon gather. Who would invest in Dover town centre when the DTIZ is no further forward and the likes of M&S will soon be moving out? Nobody it seems, which is understandable.
In pinning its hopes on DTIZ DDC has willfully neglected the High Street, I was there on Saturday afternoon and it looked desolate. Take into account DHB's plans for the Western Docks, perhaps that too is having a detrimental effect. Whether we like it or not the High Street in Dover is only going one way which is a dreadful and unnecessary shame, its also not difficult to see why.

This thread was put up to give some good news. It has degenerated in to a disgraceful and undignified squabble.
The buildings christine.a bangs on about (who still hasn't contacted me to discuss her keyboard worrioring abuse buy the way), will - I understand - be put to Auction next month. You have an opportunity to put your money where your big mouths are and do something about the buildings yourselves.
In the meantime, undaunted, the Town Team continues to put together very time consuming and expensive plans to win £1.7million from the Coastal Communities Fund to do something attractive for Dover which will link the DTIZ to the established town by creating a leisure/work space that will be attractive and available to all.
We will be very pleased to see you all at the open Town Team Meeting this evening at the Marina Hotel from 5.30pm. I wonder how many fingers I will need to use to count attendance from contributors to this thread?

Is this standard town team response, someone says something you disagree with and town team respond with name calling. Little wonder the town team gets so little support from the community!

No I wouldn't trouble her with such pettiness, but if you want the support of the community have some respect for them rather than polishing your own ego.
