07:5493598Howard is right that there were clean-ups and good ones too.
The Priory Forum are hoping to re-start them when the weather is better; we're having a meeting tonight at the Malvern Pub (top of Malvern Road, which is off of Folkestone Road) so anyone interested, please do come along.

How tempting it must have been to throw that rubbish back

, it must have been so frustrating after all the hard work you put in.

10:1993611It's amazing how much difference the clearance has made - the site looks a lot bigger than it did a couple of weeks back.
Weather permitting I can see next weekend finishing the job, though getting started may be the biggest problem as the undergrowth is very dense around the edges.

21:0393705I am unfortunately unable to make next weekend (Friday would have been my late partner's birthday - the first since he died - so I am going to stay with some friends) but I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank those who turned out and did a stint, it was great fun and particularly rewarding to have some local residents turn up and participate as well as all the positive comments from passers by.
This really shows what a motivated dedicated bunch of organised locals can achieve if they set their minds to it.
Thanks to
Jeanette & Andy C - without their perseverance with the land owner we would never have got permission to do what we have done
Lynn Brisely from DDC - who has been a great supporter to LRCF and helped us beg and borrow things for the job
Paul Willmott from WCCP - who kindly lent us hand tools and gloves and even volunteered his time to help out
Finally those who turned up to help Mandy, Phil E, Phil W, Vic, Welsh Barry, Paul S & Son, Colin M, Anita & Daughter, Lenny & his colleague from the work placement scheme, And maybe most importantly the residents of Cherry Tree - Tom & Lily & Graham - a big thank you and well done.

23:0493724Due to commitments beyond my control

I have not been able to be there.
For the first time ever I have not taken part in a local community event.
If you have anything going on at the weekend, Can I help in any way?

23:0493725Not finished yet chaps. We need to tackle the triangle of land the other side of the culvert over the next couple of weekends. It's much more heavily overgrown, but we can do it with some help with you forumites and anyone else looking in!

23:1993730i must say no phil, health problems coupled with a sell by date that has passed precludes me doing much manual work.
rest assured that the work carried out by lrcf is appreciated by dover citizens as is evidenced by the number of people that stop to look at the pictures in the old premus shop.

10:1893768Old habits die hard Alexander!
From the look at the amount of rubbish they have a job on their hands.
BTW Barton Path is almost impassable at the moment, KCC are repairing the edging.
Love the sign!
