A report by the Independent Chief Inspector of Borders on small-boat crossings will finally be published on Thursday - after the Home Office sat on it for several months.

Increase your word-power. Today's word - Excoriating - to censure scathingly.

An apology.
I have claimed before that all Border Force do is take down people's claimed names and nationalities, fingerprint them, and remove to 4* hotel accommodation.
It would appear that they have not been doing the fingerprinting!

See #217. Pay peanuts. Get monkeys?
Chief Inspector: ‘Officers, under pressure from the volume of arrivals, failed to utilise their training, and on occasion, their common sense, in identifying vulnerable individuals.’
‘The Home Office has failed over the past three years to move from a crisis response to having better systems and procedures in place and treating this as business as usual.’
‘Biometrics, such as taking fingerprints and photographs, are not always recorded. Put simply, if we don’t have a record of people coming into the country, then we do not know who is threatened or who is threatening.’
Meanwhile someone's managed to crash the £420,000 drone!

Oh you must love all this, any chance to criticise the frontline workers doing a very hard job in difficult circumstances....

For any who worked with Peter Tompkins CBE (who I heard today has just passed away at the age of 91) or others who had previously been with the 'Post Office' (

) there is no pleasure at all in seeing what has happened to the Immigration Service as was.
The mistake, apart from Governments not having the balls to enforce legislation they had themselves passed, was merging Immigration Officers (high salary, high entry and vetting requirements, who interviewed 'bodies') with Customs (able to follow simple instructions and look in 'baggage) and don't get me going on the change from an all male service to the 'turbans and tampax' recruitment drive so we would 'more reflect our diverse society' which ended up with people dressed in Nigerian tribal costumes checking your passport at Heathrow and forcing Border Force into uniform as they couldn't be relied upon to turn up to work dressed appropriately!

I've often wondered if you have more knowledge about the UKIS than you admit to, but this suggests I was right!

460 migrants in 12 boats crossed the Channel yesterday. It takes this year’s total to more than 16,000 people.

"The Dover queues in July were a mere taster of what is to come if we don’t sit down and work out a plan with the EU"

(More from someone whose viewpoint is 'out of date'!

None. I was hoping you might explain why their viewpoint is out of date. You posted the article. Hopefully you have a rational argument to back it up?

Sorry Ray. See #243. Tony is far from being 'out of date'. I was being sarcastic.

I'm afraid someone that retired 9 years ago is going to be out-of-date!
As I've said before, the reason you see him is because there is no-one else who can give a current "viewpoint" presumably because they are still government employees?

Another up to date view point also yesterday from the BBC website.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I hope you've reported this to the appropriate authorities as below, or are you just using it to advertise on here?
