Because many countries (including ones we send foreign aid to) refuse to accept their undocumented nationals etc.

RECORD BREAKERS!
More than 18,000 migrants have crossed the Channel so far this year - after 337 reached the UK by boat on Saturday
Milestone was broken five days after 696 people were rescued by Border Force
Figures show that 1,709 people have been brought to the UK so far in August

If immigrants are undocumented then I guess that there may be issues proving where they are from

Instead of sending these boat people to the African Continent is there no remote UK, preferably Scottish, uninhabited island we can send them, there they can build and set up a new self sufficient colony.

Well who would have thought it.
French police see enormous dinghy about to launch. French police pull out Opinel and puncture dinghy. Dinghy deflates. Migrants snookered.

I don't think that the (French) Normans epitomize the valiant struggle against capitalism so effectively as our Norman's Mr Grimsdale
