- 14 August 2013 07:15240648I wasnt aware that the not so jolly Joline was in harbour yesterday evening until I saw a solitary protester winding his way homeward at the end of the day, just as it began to get dark. He defiantly still held his placard aloft. Then I spotted the vessel itself out in the channel on its way to Calais. Couldnt get any real detail in the picture because of the time ( about 8pm) and the descending gloom but here we go anyway...

Imported animals waiting in shipping crates and cages at the Dover Port could be dying of heat exhaustion and dehydration. Yet animal advocates have been denied the opportunity to inspect Dover Port's facilities and keep animals safe.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has asked to inspect live animals being transported to and from England via the southern port at Dover. The Vision of the Seas, and here she is arriving a short while ago on gloomy morning.
This is her first visit to Dover..a maiden call, as was mentioned earlier.
just come back to add this EXTRA one of the crew way out front at the sharp end and it is indeed a sharp end.
You would need some steady legs and a head for heights way out there..
woe..that last picture is making me sea sick, Im off for a glass of something to steady me timbers !

that super yacht was lingering of shaky bay waiting for the large cruise ship to leave before entering the harbour.

Twas a rather grey arrival but here she is leaving last evening in more colourful conditions.A fab maiden call from Royal Caribbean..hoping for more.
and now below a close up pic as it squeezes between lighthouses. Loads of people out on deck to see the delights of Dover first hand as the town basks in the glow of a summer evening.
The ship is on its way to .."wonder wonderful Copenhagen"

The Saga Ruby was late arriving this morning due to the norovirus on board
I notice that the AIDACara came in a day late, instead of Monday she arrived on Tuesday, she was in Sweden on Monday. I'm not sure why she was late, she was last in Dover in October '12. - 16 August 2013 13:06240846Worlds largest container ship in the Dover Strait this morning.
