15:3336527Well, I`ve slagged this building off on here in my early days, but today, after a walkabout town and to the eastern docks end, I walked back along the prom heading for tea at Debrad`s, but noticed the Sports centre cafe open, (though it didn`t look like it). Had coffee in there, and for £1.30, it was worth it, and of course the view is great, though I suspect soon, those tables near the beach will become harder to get at once word gets round. It was a nice experience, and I`ll use it again, but I still hold the view that it is out of sync` with the surrounding building`s, though redevelopment may improve it. Wait and see.

15:3736531Yes, very nice Paul. Though I like to see places patronised, I`d rather have it to myself or just a few others.

19:1636578Two of the guys who work for Dover Watersports had breakfast there this morning and said it was great. One couldn't finish it!
I shall be trying the breakfast there myself soon.
Agree with you, Colin, about the wheelie bins looking unsightly, and I happen to know the staff agree with you too.

19:2236579I had a pack of M&S sarnies to eat on the sea front this morning Andy, which was a pity as I did fancy trying the breakfast. Might try again sometime. The other item I did notice which needs improving, is that structure coming down between the windows, facing the beach. I`m not sure whether it`s a support column or not.

21:2036607Great job there Paul, and your other one. My daughter tells me you can do that chopping about with some software for about £150. Is she right?

22:2136621I liked that Paul - well done.
Shame about the wheelie bins; I wonder what the planning conditions were for where is should be.
I'll try and find out.

23:1436639good stuff roger, the centre is a great addition to the seafront.
not everyone likes the building, par for the course, £.1.30 for a coffee, with such views, seems ok to me.
just waiting for it to warm up before i pay a visit.

08:0336649Gosh thats a very good one Scotchie in post 7..love it, well done with that.
Yes am really feeling this new cafe could be a winner, as long as people use it, which is always the big fear. I myself am guilty in this respect too with other places...we like it, we know its there, but do we get round to going there kind of thing.

This is the all new fab Seasports Centre today, basking in the sun and snow. Its looking better than ever and now that there is beginning to be some life inside its getting even more attractive. One cant help comparing it to the Deal Pier building...which to me is looking more than ever like a garden shed as its not weathering well, a fancy garden shed its true, with a flashy architect, but I think our one is better. It started out with less of a fanfare but is coming up on the rails.

06:2336766My understanding is that planning permission for the signage has been given and that the signs are being made at the moment.

15:0637419Vic, I was in there on my way home from work this morning. I only went for a walk up town to WHS for a magazine, then popped in the library for a bit, then down along the sea front for a walk and a coffee. I wound up having a medium size breakfast, and 2 coffee`s. I`ve had many full breakfast`s over the year`s, all over the country, from greasy cafe`s to top hotel`s, but the breakfast I had this morning was second to none! I`ll get a picture next time I`m in there, which shouldn`t be long. I was in there at 11ish, and had it all to myself. The young lady serving was so pleasant to talk to and with lot`s of enthusiasm for the job she was doing. All of you, if you like a nice freshly cooked breakfast, get down there. I do still hold my reservation`s though about it not blending in with it`s surround`s, but as it`s there now, I shall patronise it when I can. Lovely baked beans too Vic.
