14:2638489Well we were down there today and it has been put right we both liked our meal in there today, and just to sit there looking out at the port just great, and we were joined by roger and his wife, and that was nice aswell,Dover is very lucky to have him, all the work and hrs he puts into our Town and I do not think he even gets paid to do it,so it is a very big thank to him and his wife.well this is my lastday on the forum for somtime and I will miss it more than you miss me, the good news is some of my family are coming down to stay with Lesley but do not let that stop any of you from coming up for a cupper .

15:5438492Hopefully you see this Vic. Never got home till 13.00 today, despite trying to get away early to come down, would have been nice to meet you (and Roger). We will meet eventually, but in the meantime, hope all goes well with you at the hospital.

21:1938705Was busy in there this afternoon, service a little slow but it is out of season. Breakfast was nice and a decent coffee in there
I can imagine the place being heaving with people in the summer with those views

21:2738707Thats what I think everytime I`m in there Paul. I`ll be looking back to these cold gloomy days, when I was all on my own in there, and when I could have a choice of any table.

11:5738746It'll be even busier when people realise they have toilets, and take Paul W up on his suggestion to use them rather than council facilities!
Especially busy at Regatta weekend..........

17:1939532I understand that a new menu has been produced at the café in the Seasports Centre with prices reduced. I understand the mega breakfast has been reduced by £2.50!

17:2439534how much was it before then?
mind you, did they expect a big rush for breakast on the seafront in january/february?
i would not expect them to be very busy until easter, then i suspect, with their great position and views they will be inundated.

17:4339536The mega breakfast was £8.50 Howard, but I`ve been having the medium one a number of times last month which cost £6.50 and does not include tea. A bit pricey, especially if there`s 2 of you, but it is nice. As it so happened, it was my reason for trying out Mandy`s tea rooms this morning for breakfast, theirs worked out half the price and equally good and included tea.

19:5639810Enjoyed brekkie in there today for the first time - really good food, excellent service and stunning views, but all a bit pricey.
2 (Poached) Eggs, 2 Bacon, 2 Sausages, Mushrooms and beans, toast and coffee for £7.30, about £2.50 more than you'd pay at Jermain's in Beaconsfield Road. The quality of the food, although good, didn't warrant the extra money, so I shall be keeping the faith with Eddie in Jermain's unless Bob Goldfield's paying.
Thought not!

17:1140688Well my wife and myself had our first main meal in there on Sunday we had a roast dinner,it was just ok my feeling is they have still some way to go with their main meals and laying up of the tables it was not good,we will only be going in there from time to time for a cup of tea etc and see how it carrys on for a few weeks,+some were walking away because for the waiting ,but must say that did not happen to us.

17:2040689Exactly what I`ve found Vic. I have had a few medium breakfast`s in there, and even with it near empty, the waiting has been a problem, though personally I haven`t minded as I can look out of the windows, and not been on a time schedule. However, if I saw a number of people in there, I`d give it a miss for now, as I am impatient in a queue or crowd.

17:3740691The meal was just about £20 we did not have sweet with it just a cupper,so it was dear in my way of thinking, glad to think Colin we are not the only ones to say about the waiting.
I think they have got to work on their act more to make ago of it.

interesting that you post that paul,i was wondering how the business was going.
victor and colin used to say about it, then all had gone quiet.
not good for people in a hurry according to colin and vic.
