I see the Parklet is being assembled in Castle Street as I write. What does the Castle Street Society think? Where is the redoubtable Adeline or David H? It's not even on the wide pavement!

Well done Adeline, I didn't think you'd let it go. Castle Street won't be the same when you retire.
Keep up the pressure.

The parklets in Castle st look terrible and will probably look worse once they get graffitied and various fly posters pasted to them. Are we supposed to suddenly love them as they was made from recycled sea plastic? And how thoughtless taking up valuable car parking especially when there is a busy vets surgery opposite and the spaces are often needed for people with sick animals who dont want to park too far away if they can as the extra journey on foot can often further stress the injured and sick pets. All very well and good them trying to force enviromently friendly ways of getting about but we still need cars,we cannot go back to horses n carts and electric cars are still way too expensive yet.

The same story being rolled out - research shows the installation of these parklets ‘increases footfall to shops’ - fatal flaw, haven’t KCC /DDC noticed, there are no shops of any note!!

The one in Castle Street clearly is the worst of the lot so far.
But tbh I thought the one outside Iceland didn't look too bad, more in keeping with its surroundings perhaps?

Better if the iceland delivery driver suddenly gets distracted and flattens the whole thing.

That's right outside the only HMO on Castle Street...... so gonna predict a party in the summer, few beer cans.... and the shop won't be happy, how can people stop off for supplies with that thing there!

I think you will share my view that we have now reached a time where we vote only for those that are community active
They are few and far between
A few I can mention
Rebecca Sawbridge. Green party. Very community active
Gordon Cowan
I try to look to put all parties but can't find a conservative that's active
