Forumites might have noticed a group of new free papers which have been released in East Kent.
Very metro-sexual, arty, DFL, on-trend etc.

I was talking to a local Dover businessmam who had never heard of them.
One wonders why they have skipped a Dover edition? (clue - or Herne Bay)

Haven't been down the Market Square recently to notice this place. Possibly not for the age group of most of this forum.

Not a shop, but it looks like Lloyds is closing in March.
Funnily enough I actually went in there last week. (To pay in a couple of fifties I'd been given
)

It will sad to see yet one more bank going ,but the saying is use it or lose it.
But the town of Dover is 100s of years old and it will remain a town forever. We still have more shops then most seaside towns and the port will save it as a town but we shop in a difference way online, in big stores that sell most thing ,with big car parks so that alone takes trade away from the small town shops ,but the town will survive in one way or another ,but what way will that be I do not know but what we all know it will be alot smaller.

Great idea.
Just after Christmas is a dead time for many shops and small business, owners take the chance to do repairs or even go on holiday
Better to repair or upcycle than send to landfill, plus for some it is their business. Second hand and charity shops can only survive with these items, it also means those struggling financially can get something that others can afford to buy new..

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
