Better a taxi office than another empty shop.

Going by your profile photo Lewis this must be a stressful time of year for you, hopefully if the worst comes to the worst someone will clear up behind you.

Yup, but the serious question is 'Is this because of the council or in spite of the council?'.

They are both closing but I understand they already had someone waiting to move into the Deal unit so brought it forward.

The old Santander Bank unit next to Taylor's meats had people working inside this morning, I seem to remember it was going to be an amusement arcade.

I don't know what B & M stores are up to but we were told that they would be up and running by Christmas. No work has gone on in the former M & S unit so no chance of that happening.

Interestingly it's shopping centres NOT town centres which are taking a hammering on vacancies.
Right now a quarter of them are insolvent and a large number of pension funds holding distressed assets. What a time for a council to see investment in comercial property on borrowed money to be 'the way forward'!

Meanwhile Macarthur Glen (The outlet place at Ashford which DDC turned down years ago being built at Whitfield as it might have an effect on High Street shops!!!! ) continues to expand
