Amazon provide excellent service with goods I want delivered to my door. What's not to like? Why tax innovation and success?

Getting back to Amazon, what happens when they have driven all their rivals out of the High Street and they have no need to keep prices low?

Nothing Howard they are the retailer not the manufacturer!
Not forgetting of course that they are not in competition with the high street (there Is no competition) they are however in competition with other online retailers, there are hundreds and more coming online all the time.

Thought it would slow down after Christmas but the Hermes van still arrives every morning to decant parcels into a Slovakian registered van, never takes less than half an hour so plenty of work for the driver.

Another example of the growth of low paid low skilled 'last-mile jobs'.

Noticed that work has started on the floors above "Nifties" so presumably planning permission has been given for flats there.

If anyone wants to see the state of the ex Heart Foundation shop and building opposite St Mary's it was featured on Homes Under The Hammer this morning about 31mins in.

The question is, was it worth losing both Dover and Deal high street strores for the St James' foodhall?

A couple of points to make on the subject, firstly M & S are having a major restructuring and 16 others were announced today. Secondly Deal has quirky shops and eating places that appeal to those who have a second home there and any M & S shopping they would do during the week near their home or workplace.
