My advice would be contact Matthew Scott, Kent Crime commissioner - who is up for re-election get him down- Nigel Collor who knows the problems only too well. KCC transport Cabinet member is influential. Add Natalie Elphicke MP & Highways England (who are crucial & decision makers - with funding) . Pressure on Sec of StatevGrant Schapps. Is also vital. As Guston and Whitfield are also protesting about lorry park at Business Park , Dover is in full view . Never have you had the best opportunity to make the case whilst money is sloshing around. Pick a local group of residents who are vocal , coherent & start the campaign . Simon Jones from BBC south East would a good person to brief & cover the story. I missed DHB as very influential & co-ordinators of TAP.
Your timing might just be the best chance for a solution.

Thank you for your advice Paul. Unfortunately Mrs Elphicke supports the development of the Inland Border site at Guston.
From previous posts it would seem that a number of these avenues have already been explored as far as Aycliffe is concerned but it wouldn’t hurt to try again, and again and again.......

The trick with controversial schemes which appear certs is to have a list of local demands ready to compensate & benefit the local community. Fight your corner by all means but don’t miss out on the compensatory aspects. Your excellent Parish Council know this & you have some very switched on local residents who will help if contacted.
KCC tried to designate part of the Business Park for logistics/ lorry park a decade ago & we fought that off.
Aycliffe’s issues can come further to the fore now whilst the wider issues are live.
It’s not the time ‘to miss the boat’ whilst national attention is still live .
Chase the local & regional broadcast media. They’ll pick up the story.

I've made my comments elsewhere.

It's signed sealed and almost delivered and has been planned for YEARS.
Objecting is going to be like pi$$ing into the wind.
City Court continues to run circles round the 'locals'!

Your chances of getting Natalie Elphicke to support any cause with connotations vaguely critical of Brexit delivery are zero, based on past experience. She's already defending the Guston project for its job creation benefits! The same applies to Schapps and any other stalwarts of the Brexit kindergarten cabinet.
Cap'n - are you saying that City Court are still to be involved in the development of the site as a Brexit customs clearance site? I understood this was purely a national government project.
As for operation TAP, surely it must be possible to pinpoint publicly the person ultimately responsible for its location. The buck must stop with someone for heaven's sake. If you can get a name out in the public domain to defend his/her position then I would imagine you might make some progress, given that nobody is calling for cessation only relocation.

I watched our MP on the news earlier if she thinks I can be brainwashed she wants to think again.Promises promises I’m not that gulible.Comes Over very cold watch the eyes .I don’t think she has any understanding of the town she represents .Surrounded by those smooth talking MPs .I think a few days at the coal face would do no harm .No pun intended.

Evening all, I've emailed DfT, MP, DDC again this evening regarding the Guston issue after the parish council let people know that hand delivered letters had gone to the closest affected residents.
What a perfect way to limit complaint!
I know I shouldn't be surprised but it does still shock me how Dover residents seem to be dispensable in the eyes of those in power.
So I've reminded the elected people I've emailed that whilst government departments will always exist, politicians need votes to survive and if they want a long political career they need to bear that in mind!
Can't see me getting a knighthood anytime soon!
Anyway, now I'm on a roll of enjoying sending emails to defend Dover, I'll be sending one soon about Aycliffe and TAP.

Trying to pinpoint one person who can make a decision about the start position of Dover TAP is hard.. Trust me no one can make a decision at Highway England. I have e-mails, including photos and videos and letters going back to when Dover TAP begun in Apr 2015.
I have have actually run out of people I can e-mail....
Most people including journalists thought Dover TAP was part of Operation Stack/Brock. That is the difficulty we are facing.

Garry I have written to your two District Councillors plus Nigel Collor.I agree with you people donot understand The different systems .I have just been speaking to a friend talking
about the problems Aycliffe have to endure , not interested .You find until a problem is outside their house they are not concerned .I have looked at Paul’s posting and I shall write a few more emails .
I find on our local River forum they are more concerned with dog poo.

Roads are not looking to bad at all today, although I believe late today and tomorrow will be when traffic picks up through the port. On the plus side, all the time Brock is on, TAP isn't as far as I am aware.
