From the Road Haulage Association.
This is to give prior warning, but there is a rumour that there could be a national employees strike on Monday 1st February. Mr Macron is due to make an announcement on Sunday.

Karl is, unless there’s secondary picketing at the ports, or sympathetic action by others, we won’t be affected by a strike of French truckers.

Indeed, Sue. That's the point that the Open Spaces (ramblers) lot were making. Just another lost voice wailing pointlessly, I fear.

Suggest everyone takes another look at the map provided by the DfT on the Inland Border Facilities site
https://inlandborderfacilities.uk/?page_id=1231
It now shows the inclusion of the Dover Fastrack bus route- despite being repeatedly told by both the DfT and KCC that these are two separate and different applications and should not be confused! We’re not confused but we are being misled!

Interested parties can still contact KCC planning department with their concerns related to the Dover Fastrack-
Proposal DOV/20/01048 (KCC/DO/0178/2020) - Creation of two sectors of road as dedicated Bus Rapid Transit route for buses, cyclists and pedestrians only. Section 1 - New road, 1.0 km in length, connecting Whitfield Urban Expansion to Tesco roundabout at Honeywood Parkway via new overbridge over A2. Access to bridge will be controlled by bus gates. Section 2 - New road, 1.1 km in length connecting B & Q roundabout on Honeywood Park Road to Dover Road near Frith Farm, with access to Dover Road controlled by a bus gate, providing access to future phases of White Cliffs Business Park at Dover Fastrack - Land to the north of Dover and to the south of Whitfield; KCC Major Capital Projects
Use the reference number and email KCC planning.
The above does not reflect the changes that the proposed IBF will bring about, including the rerouting of the North Downs Way.
At no point does this application recognise that the section of the Fastrack bus road will be used by HGVs to enter and exit the site. Make your concerns known ASAP.
