Ah ha! So Reggie makes an even more vapid contribution just to satisfy his desire for a quick snipe. What do they say that imitation is the sincerest form of?

Well that press release was a joke… obviously Cllr Mills did not make it to Aycliffe… we are too far from ivory towers

Heard on the radio they shut the Roundhill Tunnel again today.
Luckily I was on my way to Canterbury.
Guessing that caused the usual chaos?
You can bet whoever makes that decision doesn't live anywhere near Folkestone or Dover.

I see traffic control is working keeping Snargate street and Townwall street gridlocked

Returned from hols via Calais. French & British border controls clearances horrific time wise . Makes Dover look perfection. Only difference is Calais Port has space to accommodate port traffic unlike Dover & more booths open but to no consequence.

Thank you Keith. Joined by family. Dreadful drive back. Half of Europe returning after first two weeks of August. Perhaps reason for Calais diabolical queues but affected missed ferry timings .

Those up the top end of town will have noticed that the A256 at Buckland Avenue has been closed since Saturday, so today KCC have decided to close Whitfield Avenue to resurface it.

Have heard Alkham Valley is shut due to a burst sewer. Can anyone elaborate?

The A2 is closed between Whitfield and Jubilee Way because of flooding.
The outside lane always has standing water in the rain, and with all this rain I'm sure it's worse.
Also there's the narrow lanes and the road is in appalling condition.

Looks like there's a huge water leek at the Alkham Valley turn off.. Going down the hill, from where The Railway Bell used to be.
That's going to become treacherous when it dips below zero.
