What I mean is that in essence present trading arrangements will stay in place until others have been agreed. This way there would be no lacuna necessitating WTO 'rules' as an interim measure (which would be in no-ones interest).

Well that would be nice, but in itself would require to be agreed. It's not all about tariff barriers, it's about customs regimes as well - for example, what today are dispatches and arrivals/acquisitions will revert to being exports and imports - in both directions (being declared at least at either end).

Yes. Just as happens with the imports/exports of the 100+ other nations we seem to manage somehow to trade with.

Yup. 'Freight Forwarding' to make a bit of a comeback. Let's hope locals have necessary skills in data entry. The world has moved on over the past few decades since I remember it!

If needed I am sure there will be plenty out there with the necessary skills, especially among the younger members of the potential workforce.

I have just read that Mauricio Pochettino will be taking over the leadership of a Brexit team since it only took him three weeks to get Spurs out of Europe.

Article 50 is not null and void it must be activated formally in order for the UK to begin the process of withdrawal from the EU.
There appears to be differing opinions as to whether we are members of the EEA in our own right regardless or solely as a result of our EU membership. This is where Article 127 of the EEA constitution comes in, as there is no way for members to lapse membership without invoking the provision of said article. This is material for the UK as all sides appear to want the free market benefits EEA membership provides; albeit there is the small issue of a need to agree to some form of free movement of labour...
This would be potentially another item that in the normal course of event one would expect parliament to debate and vote upon; however it looks like this may end up being dragged through the civil courts for a formal judgement on the role of parliament in relation to international treaties and membership of international organisations. A bit of a damning indictment of our under prepared politicians...

At least for the import/export jobs it's all one and the same.

I disagree. This Government can make as many mistakes or take as many controversial decisions as they want and will still win a landslide election in 2020. There is no current credible opposition. Labour are dead and buried under Corbyn, LIB Dems and UKIP start from such a low representative base that barring a miracle they can only really expect to secure a handful of seats each next time around. I predict we will have Conservatives in power until at least 2030.

Are the Lib Dems still around I never seem to hear anything from them?
Maybe they have gone into hibernation for the winter ready to blossom forth in the spring full of life and brilliant ideas.

Farron has been busy trying to woo Labour members disenchanted with Jezza over to the Lib Dems and Clegg has suddenly come to life getting involved in the Brexit fiasco.

Correct Paul M.
Under the new boundaries Aylesham (labour) becomes part of Canterbury and Sandwich (conservative) becomes part of Dover. The parliamentary candidate for Dover at the next General Election has a job for life.
Welcome to the one party state.
