Rather apt that he should want to help since it was the good Mr Blair who opened floodgates to immigration, leading to Brexit Disaster for Remain and a Landslide for Leave!
(And whatever right-on twaddle people come out with we have NEVER in our history until recently been a country of mass immigration.
In 1951 WITH all the displaced in Europe AND many born abroad to parents who were serving in the British Empire our population was only 4.2% foreign born (about 1 in 25)
In 2011 after a 63% rise in the ten years since 2001 the population was 12.7% foreign born (about 1 in 8)
Since all successful nations have been built upon shared language, history, culture, territory and politics I am not optimistic about UK plc although a bit of swamp draining might well improve matters no end IMHO)

Do read post #77 Keith.
I'm afraid we are in for a couple of years of 'journalists' writing Eurobollox (and even worse forumites commenting on it!)
Off topic I see that Storm Angus is pushing our 'waste of money' windmills around fast enough to generate 12.49% of our electricity requirements a few minutes ago http://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/ What a waste of money (not). My prediction is that the transitional plan will be to stay in the single market for a few years which would mean the continuation of free movement so that Cruella can continue to appease big business.
Two problems - a) Would the other member states go along with it and b)Her party would be split badly.

Post 101: would you class the USA as a successful nation? Just asking, Kimosabe!
Post 102: hm, well, we didn't end up where we are today overnight (there was a transition process followed by evolution), so an agreement on a period of transition in the opposite direction could have some merit - but then you get straight back into 'what would it look like', 'how long for' and 'what comes next'.

Absolutely. And almost all immigrants have historically signed up for the 'American Dream' - learn English, blend in, allegiance to the flag rather than the peasant culture parents came from etc.
It is only starting to fall apart since we have had this PC crap about 'heritage' and finding ones 'culture' and dealing with 'minorities' and the stupid idea of being worried about the individual rather than the utilitarian view of what is best for the common good.

Perhaps the Ides of March is the Article 50 Brexit deadline.

Charlie tried to introduce a bill in the Commons today banning live exports to which I pointed out that it would breach EU law. He come back with the answer that we are leaving the EU, so taking that argument to its logical conclusion we can now stop sending money to Brussels.

Wrong. NOT EU law. DO look at the judgement against Thanet District Council. Doh!
IF we were stupid enough to ban this totally lawful trade you would find your docks blockaded by those who did not wish export/import of tobacco products, arms, alcohol, goods from Israel, Chinese steel, non FairTrade bananas and God knows what is the latest flavour of the month.
ALL the crazies would come out of the woodwork to join the mad veggie-nazis trying to blockade the port.
I have actually been present IN the Port of Ramsgate (September 2014) during shipment observing what goes on and could see nothing wrong with it (apart from animals having to be calmed down after air horns and banging on sides of transporters as they entered secure area)

Kindly explain Captain why Charlie is trying to bring a law in to stop live exports based on the assumption that we will leaving the EU? Pray furnish us with a link re; judgement against Thanet DistrictCouncil.

See para 20 of judgement:-
http://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Ch/2014/490.html#para168
George Eustice and Charlie are either very stupid or more probably merely duplicitous in blaming the EU.
The EU does indeed guarantee 'lawful trade' but it is UK legislation which makes it 'lawful' for the very good reasons I outlined in post #114)

I'm against live animal exports for 2 reasons:
It causes unnecessary suffering.
The animals should be slaughtered and packaged here thus creating employment.

The only live farm animal to be exported should be for breeding purposes only, the rest could easily be slaughtered near to their farm prior to export.
