Somewhat off topic but relevant in so far as demonstrating so clearly how the arrogance and entitlement of this government has alienated so many voters. Arrogance and incompetence - such a dangerous mixture.

Thought bus subsidies etc came from County not District? (Though I'm sure County would be more than happy for District funding)

Yes Bob they do however as one of my District Zcouncillors is KCCmember as well he should show support for us .When Gordon Cowan was our County member I told him the lights were our on Whitfield Hill, cost cutting exercise and children were walking home in the dark as well as workers from Tesco .So he lobbied and got them put back on.You See one should always fight for their Community. Not one of our KCC members showed support for River Community. They are completely out of touch. We share the bus service with Aycliffe.Over twenty pounds to get taxis to the Doctors Surgery At Lydden .We are large Community and they should be supporting us.

Our Town and Castle Councillors do not live in the ward..
One lives in Capel another lives in Temple Ewell.
The one at Capel thought the only way onto the Aycliffe was by the foot bridge over the A20.. Excellent local knowledge.
We at Aycliffe we need a local councillor who lives in the area and will fight for us..
I did not vote on party lines but for people who actually lives in the ward

Garry you have got that wrong. One of your Councillors lives in Dover a friend of mine the other it’s a temporary move
Paul I think Gordon will the take the Chairmanship for a year??He has the experience and Pam will keep to housing until she takes the Chairman ship. Not been told this .Gordon will need to keep a tight rein on both parties.

Sue.. where the candidates for election was sent out the addresses was one lived at Capel and one lived at Temple Ewell. the opposite side of town. The councillor who now represents us from Temple Ewell in the previous 4 years represented the Buckland Ward. So no idea where they live now.. I am going by what was declared…

Did you know those initials also stand for McDonalds?
For the rest of us they stand for Municipal Charities of Dover. (

If you look up the correspondence address which is the only way of knowing if the two district councillors live in the ward, both have all correspondence sent to district council offices .
I suppose the days of listing your address are long gone .
The confusion probably came about when Gordon stood in St Rads (not part of Dover town ward)
And he lives Capel .
You can only hope Gary that Ms Hills and Mr Biggs your elected District cllrs You will see some time in the four years .
Can't tell where all your town cllrs live as they don't list addresses and having updated the town council web site yet anyway .
Good luck Gary
