The cost of upsetting Russia could cost the UK around £16 billion pounds in lost trade just think what the N.H.S. COULD DO WITH THAT AMOUNT of cash and also fill in all the pot holes and what for? we still do not know or will ever know if in deed it was Russia.
We need their trade so need to stop all this mud slinging ,I feel very sorry for the members of public that were made very ill ,but not so sorry for the spy he did know the risks having a job like that +he was a very high ranked officer in the Russia Army ,and in my way of thinking he let his own county down .
Well thats what I think anyway. And also cost jobs over here,so best thing is to try and see it from both sides and make up.

The only lost dignity I see is with the spy himself and look at the risk he put his own family in.
I know nothing of this kind of thing only what I hear and read in the papers and that does not make me right in the way I talk, but it is the way I am thinking.

He worked for us, he was granted citizenship and offered our protection, and not to react when he is attacked on our streets putting hundreds of people at risk would be a pretty pathetic response for the world to see. But each to their own.

Someone has to take a stand against Putin and his cronies what with state sponsored drug cheating at the Olympics and Oligarchs laundering money here and all over the western world. This latest incident tells us that the President thinks he can do what he likes when he likes so action has to be taken before he tries anything else here.

After watching the journalist on Breakfast this morning describing what happened in Russia, Panorama should be an interesting watch.
Sorry Chris slightly off topic but relevant.

I am siding with Vic on this, Theresa May is playing with fire here, you simply do not give a 24 hours ultimatum to a nuclear state, what a complete joke! Her statement in Parliament on Monday provided no material proof, just empty intimidations and provocations, saying that it's "highly likely" that Russia did it is no material proof, and if this were a court case it would be thrown out immediately by a judge.
Besides the British government did not follow the process protocol, and refused to provide Moscow access to materials and samples related to the case, which IS a violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention. Why would they do that, I wonder?
And what a coincidence this whole thing happened just around the corner from Porton Down, the secret government research lab facility outside Salisbury, I smell a rat here!

In the meantime on the quiet the Conservatives and the DUP have just voted through cuts to free school meals in England which could mean ONE MILLION children lose out. May bought the DUP's support by excluding Northern Ireland from these cuts. Our "beloved" Charlie voted for those cuts, and I think this is rather disgusting.

Watching House of Commons live, where Honourable Members on Labour backbenches are queuing up to stand behind the Prime Minister and her statement, it would appear that it's just Vic, Nicola and Corbyn who are falling for the Kremlin/Russian Embassy lies/disinformation.

Theresa wants her Falklands, worked for Thatcher when her ratings were at the lowest. However I am not keen on May starting WW3 because of some 'dignity' nonsense, just remember there'll be no survivors in the nuclear holocaust.

23 "diplomats" on their way back to Moscow which means we are back in the cold war days effectively as Russia will respond accordingly.

Guessing you are quite old, Captain, so may not care that much, but I still have most of my life to live and ideally to grow as old as you are.
Besides you did not contribute any reasonable responses to the points I raised, but carry on, keep chuckling

I doubt very much that Russia will be too offended by the UK response. Of course, they will look like they are furious, but I wouldn't worry too much. Russia just chancing its arm when they know the UK Government is all over the show and pre occupied. Mind you, perversely, it does give May the opportunity to appear strong on at least something.....

If David Kelly had died on March 4 this year, and had he been a Russian exile, we can be sure the media would be screaming that Putin murdered him, and the numerous inconsistencies in his alleged “suicide” would be front page news. But when Kelly actually died in 2005, the only country potentially implicated in his death was Britain. And so the British media were silent .....Hmm, funny that

Thatchers falklands came at an opportune time and she rightly sent us to protect sovereign territory and British citizens.
Are you really so out of touch that you think Putin would nuke us over something so petty, thus assuring the total annihilation or his own country?
David Kelly didn't die this year and wasn't a Russian exile, this might come as a surprise, but sometimes the government don't tell us everything for reasons other than a cover up!
