There's unlikely to be a change In parties come the general election .
Again Starmer shoots himself in the foot expelling MP
Who supported guys on the picket line .
Elphicke must be laughing all the way to next ballot box
Come on Neil you have to admit labour are more concerned on expelling its own members than wishing to win an election

Rumours that Sunak will soon offer all Red Wall voters a puppy. One per family.

Marvellous. Neater hair than the last one, but headlines like that make me reach for the Alka-seltzer, Alice.
Mind you, I can't imagine us seeing such non-negative headlines for a Labour leadership contest and I do think they go to link a party (Tories in this case) with government.

All well and good the few Tory members voting for one or the other , country wide electorate will be the test

The selection process is much to long winded and the leader should have been sorted by now.

Yet YouGov poll shows Conservatives (with no leader) trailing Labour (with Starmer) by only one percentage point on voting intention at a General Election?
Dream on Keef!

The Times quoting Penny Mordaunt on Liz Truss' fiscal philosophy: "What she is looking at, though, is enabling people to keep more of the money they earn. It makes no sense to take money off of people and then give it back in very, very complicated ways."
The Daily Express quoting Penny Mordaunt on Liz Truss' fiscal philosophy: "There’ll be different things required for different people – there’s the package of support that’s already been put in place [and] Liz is looking at other measures. There will be more that is needed."
The Daily Telegraph reporting Penny Mordaunt on Liz Truss' fiscal philosophy: '[her] comments on not using handouts to ease the cost of living crisis have been misconstrued'. Ms Mordaunt, a trade minister, denied Ms Truss ruled out expanding direct payments, saying she wanted "people to keep more of the money they earn".
The FT reporting Penny Mordaunt on Liz Truss' fiscal philosophy: '[her] comments have been misinterpreted' and Truss would look at a range of measures to help poor households. "She's not ruled out all future help" she said.
I had hoped we were getting away from the Johnson era of 'what I meant to say, had I put my brain in gear before opening my mouth'-type corrections.

Fascinating stuff from the on-line version of the Daily Express cover and page 4:
"Liz Truss is the right choice to lead Britain. That is the resounding verdict of the Daily Express. In a dramatic announcement that could help seal her victory in the Conservative leadership battle, this paper tonight declares its support for her bid to become our next Prime Minister.
"Every senior politician has their flaws. Churchill was an egocentric, while Attlee was inhibited by his shyness. Truss herself is a limited, awkward communicator and some of her answers in debates – especially on the NHS and the housing market – have sounded trite. Nor does her plan for immediate tax cuts look remotely likely to tackle the enormity of the economic crisis about to engulf the nation, though, more convincingly, she has promised an emergency budget when she first takes office.
"If she reaches the top, she will certainly have her work cut out. Taming the public sector trade unions, resolving the social care crisis, reversing the Northern Ireland protocol, cracking down on the people smugglers in the Channel, cutting Government waste, curbing inflation, restoring the public finances, dealing with staff shortages in the NHS and, above all, slashing exorbitant energy bill are just a few of he jobs in an overladen in-box.
"But if anyone has the true grit for the task, it is her. That is why the Express says today that Tory members should back her. "

Not a great choice
Although those few members able to vote are likely to be supporters .

Those Tory supporters who can actually vote will have to choose between two Boris ex cabinet pals so how much real choice is there, what they say now and what they do might be completely different.
