Liz Truss for God's sake, thick as mince, or a multi millionaire.

Frankly with either as PM both the Conservative Party & the country are doomed.
If Truss wins, the Conservatives become even more un-electable than Starmer's Labour and her legacy will be possibly 20+ years in the wilderness for the tories.
Unfortunately, with either at the helm between now and the next GE (assuming they dont change the current law on parlaimentary terms & I honestly wouldn't put it past them) we will see a futher drift to petty cronyism, authoritarianism & massive tax breaks for corporations & the ultra rich funded by an almost stalinesque burnt earth policy towards social expenditure including further privatisation of the NHS and social care.

This result gives a valid reason why the tory members should be given a bigger and hopefully better choice rather then either or who are only elected by their croanies in Westminster.
I do not know enough about either of them but Truss reminds me of a sour looking school prefect, while Sunak gives little away personality wise.

Without doubt the most disastrous political regime in my lifetime. And I've been voting since 1974.

Then you are older enough to remember the early 70's, how is this worse? Serious question.
At least the country is still functioning, unlike then. For how much longer could be a valid question!

What I find sad is that people have no confidence in any of them .
Very little choice.
Obviously the parties move to the right will please a small minority, but won't do to much for us.
It's the usual ,how will this all pan out?
Who will people want to vote for in any tactical vote that could make a difference, will people think that far or will they just not vote.

Worrying that Me truss has become the favourite.
Can't say the press reports that she is more able than the other guy to beat Starmer, they both could.
Her TV debating was poor which she admitted.
If she can't come across well on a simple TV what chance do we have as her a an international leader?.

Drat, you could've asked her how she solved the approaching Entry Exit System problem in order to 'Keep Dover Clear' as the saying goes.

Like it or not (and try talking outside your immediate circle of friends) the leader Labour was most worried about coming up against was Boris.
The concerted drip, drip, drip campaign over the past couple of years against him, mostly by people pissed off that he got any sort of Brexit 'done', has unfortunately had its effect, though he is still loved by the man on the Hartlepool Omnibus who thinks 'Yup, I could see myself doing that!' and frankly doesn't give a toss, unless performing for a vox pop TV interview to a loaded question, about what Boris was or was not up to while someone was cremating Great Aunt Freda.
In passing I've just read Russia: Revolution and Civil War 1917-1921 by Antony Beevor. If you want to read about an MP lying to Parliament read this. There's the Secretary of State for War lying consistently in the House of Commons about the involvement of our troops overseas and what they are up to.
He is, of course, Winston Churchill. I believe he has a bit of a come back a few years later?

It's surprising that in a leadership debate the one that has now twice said she's no good in these debates, is the favourite to win !

All I can say if after listening to the debate on TV God help us all. They got rid of the two women who were much better. We can look forward to years of discontent. No debating skills what so ever.Blame Blame and envy that is their game .
Some people in life and work hard can achieve .I see that in my own family .Many people educated in Dover go on to achieve.

For the Tories to be tearing themselves apart will do lasting damage .
Neither candidate looks up to it.
And really the Tonbridge MP was the only one that looked as though he was on board
But really the party is moving to the right .

My question at the moment is why are the media pandering to Tory membership with these head to head programmes when the average person has no say in the outcome. What these two waffle on about now is of little relevance except to the voting members as by the time the next General Election is due the promises might mean nothing.
