Just because you don't take an interest in politics doesn't mean that politics won't take an interest in you. PERICLES.

I thought the idea was to deny them a voice, not share their missives!

Tory constituency associations with MPs who voted to remain in the EU are reporting a surge in membership applications since Mr Banks urged UKIP supporters to sign up. I can't see much point as there is very little chance of a leadership or General Election before the end of next March.

Perhaps you have to be a member for six months or so before you are entitled to vote?
( or they fear a rule change to the same effect? )

Currently at 3 months John but more relevant is the seven months before we leave meaning that it would be pointless deselecting a Remain supporting MP after that time.

Ukip has now split all over the place,
A number of people within UKIP were outspoken in supporting Farrage leaving
Now other factions splitting away from UKIP are setting up
All confusing lol

Indeed there are too many factions with much the same views but all fighting each other yet coming together to support Tommy and President Trump - don't often see those names together. Gerard Batten is turning UKIP into a single issue party and Nigel Farage intends to take back control next March and make its appeal more about the EU. Arron Banks who bank rolled UKIP is now urging previous members to join the Tory party - if anyone can make sense of it all I would like to meet them.
Support for a far right party is around 25% according to the polls and in most of Europe that would result in being part of Government but here is means absolutely nothing in terms of getting even one MP.

Howard your post 782 and 794 are conflicting
indeed some have returned to UKIP but under Farrage then won a lot of protest seats on councils
they have lost them all.
People realised they were going no where.
With this, as you say they are splitting all over the place.
The branch fell apart here in Dover, and even our own Mr Little who thought he was to be the next MP disappeared after not getting close.
So with all the above I think UKIP will just be another very small protest party.

You must obviously have been privy to David’s innermost thoughts then Keith. Naturally, as a candidate, you have to project an optimistic image, but I don’t recall at any time did he actually believe that he would oust Charlie even though he worked his socks off in the attempt.
Probably David’s biggest hurdle to overcome at the time was the “wasted vote” syndrome, ie., the fear of letting one of your lot in!
