Another hugely successful Selection Event was held by Dover Carnival Association Limited on Sunday 29th April at Dover Town Hall.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was crushed under the wheels of a lorry at the Port of Dover. The incident happened at 6.40 pm on Tuesday evening (1 May) opposite berth 6 at the Eastern Docks as lorries were moving forward to board a ferry.

The Conservatives have taken control of Dover District Council with a majority of 11 seats. They now have 28 councillors, with Labour on 15 and the Liberal Democrats having two.

A multi million pound regeneration of Dover Town Centre, which could bring more than 500 jobs to the area, continues to drive forward with Dover District Council's acquisition and the official hand over of the Russell Street bus depot, as part of the massive redevelopment of the area.

A major transportation study took place around Dover this week as part of vital research work in the preparation of the Local Development Framework for the future of the district.
