A haulage company owner has been jailed for three and a half years for attempting to smuggle almost 3.2 million cigarettes into the UK through Dover.

With District, Town and Parish elections and a UK-wide referendum taking place on Thursday 5 May, Dover District Council is urging voters to make sure they are registered to vote in time.

Representatives from 30 community and voluntary groups that have benefited from a total of £100,000 Bridging the Gap funding over the past year were invited to a Grant Awards Celebration at Dover District Council offices on Wednesday 23 March.
