I also feel sorry for those people and I have emailed various Councillors who are supposed to represent the people.Elvington people now have to go via St Radigunds through River and onwards .A journey of fifty minutes.Yes some people do have buses but you need to take a snack as the journey times are so long .
I have just emailed Our MP.County Councillor the transport man,Stage Coach and River Parish Council.
KCC have now formed a committee to try and help the elderly who are isolated.
Talk about the cart before the horse .we might as well get the horse and cart for our journeys .be quicker.

KCC won't be interested as they have enough on their plate as it is with keeping their subsidised services running. Best not to expect a response from Stagecoach as they still have incorrect timetables at stops on both sides of the Folkestone Road after 3 months despite many of us contacting them.

It's mildly amusing that we complain quite rightly about the service that Stagecoach offers. It's really not good by any objective measure because it's based upon the need to make profit rather than provide a social service. Yet I don't hear anyone confronting the real elephant in the room - this is a privatised monopoly. We have no choice. A bit like the provision of water. A legacy of a Tory ethos which the Tories will never concede to be at fault. Plenty of them moaning on here though. Am I alone in finding it a tad ironic?

I know exactly how you feel, Brian. I depend on the service 102 since I gave up my car. Maxton isn't too bad because we have the 68 to help us. God knows what it must be like in Aycliffe.

#467 Good for you, Sue. And for all the good it will do I suspect that you might be better off looking for fairies in your back garden. He has no inclination to change things where the really matter.

A bit harsh Ray I have every confidence that we will see a photo of Charlie standing next to a bus stop with the regional manager, both looking sincere.
We can forget the (ir)relevant councillors going on past performance.

Lew
You appear to be a good spokesperson for stagecoach
I highlight again just the journeys (some) that I do
The number 10 folkestone to Ashford cut from 2 an hour to one
The old 1900 bus used to go through to folkestone bus stn from. Ashford now it goes 1920 and terminates in Cheriton middle of no where and goes via golden valley and all the villages
Dover bus also does not connect any longer over 35 min wait
Improvements?
Where
All about profit
What a way to run what is supposed to be a public service

Mr Finnis is a retired clippie Keith from the days of the East Kent effort and knows about route planning and maximising profits for the shareholders.

It’s interesting to read all these comments but you must write to Stagecoach and. The MP .Seems everyone is fed up with buses. No good moaning must back it up with evidence .Response from my parish Council was I was the only one who complained yet I know every day someone complains to me .

That says a lot Howard thank you
Brian you complained quite rightly of the poor connecting service nothing to do with being British more to do with wanting a service run in the interests of the public and not shareholders

Keith is right .Moaning is no good .Provide Stagecoach with evidence.Until everyone who gets a delayed journey mainly due to buses not connecting or not running nothing will change.

Yes we moan loudly then sit comfortably and leave it to someone else to actually do something.

You are right there Jan.I don’t give up easily however if you are not backed up some people in higher places think you are the only one experiencing problems.I was told this at my Parish Council AGM and no one spoke up .
I recall when the new seats were installed bus shelters Pencester .My friend completed a questioner stating they were ok yet the previous day she had moaned how uncomfortable they were
.

Whoever designed those seats should have consulted someone experienced in the field, the Town Council for example.
