Quite a lot here
1 it is amusing when those supporting the party that helped to push for deregulated buses then moan when it doesn't work
2 we have every right to complain when an ever decreasing and expensive bus service gets worse
3 yes those able to change things should
4 I write to stagecoach quite a lot but like Howard says they often don't even bother to reply I'm aware of a number of people in my ward who also write many times
So it's not a lack of info they do know
5 Stagecoach sadly has a near monopoly which isn't helping

I do wish Keith would get away from his obsession that I am a spokesman for Stagecoach. All I do is explain facts as they exist. By the way, regarding the routing of services via St Radigunds, wasn't there clamour a couple of years back for better links to the hospital? Howard, I'm not a retired clippie, but a retired Lecturer in Business Studies who happened to work for East Kent during his student days, and because I have had an interest in transport from quite an early age, I do have a certain degree of expertise in the field (railways as well).

Yes Lewis but we don’t require the River bus to go that way all the time.People from Deal Folkestone are better off going into Dover and as they did previously catch a bus to the hospital

There's a sign up in Minnis Lane.

Minnis Lane, River
Road closure on 17th September for 5 days between Lewisham Road and Lower Road.
Does that mean no buses out of River past the Dublin?

Not even a former clippie, Howard. I wouldn't have looked good in a skirt!
Karlos, Stagecoach will no doubt have a Service Update on their website. Usual thing is back to Crabble Junction then along London Road.

Lew
Thanks for your info.
I think if we use your logic a lot of us are transport experts
You gave some views on the bus Folk to Ashford.
As I did with first hand knowledge.
I'm sure Sue also could be seen as an expert,
still life goes on lol...

Worry ye not Sue your service from River will only encounter minor inconvenience when it goes through Buckland Le Ferne and St Radigunds hamlet where you will have the chance to wave in a regal manner to the peasants who will bow in supplication and tug their forelocks in response to you acknowledging their existence.

Stagecoach were correct in making slight cuts to the 63 route in the late afternoon, the last few times I caught the one just after 3 pm going into town only 1 or 2 other passengers were on there. Causing a problem in Priory Street though as each bus stands there doing nothing for 5/10 minutes on each trip meaning less space for other services to pick up and drop off passengers. Some have to do this in the road thus blocking cars from getting through.

A lot of mutterings on social media recently about stroppy Stagecoach bus drivers and other than the odd one or two driving the 102s I can't say I have seen much evidence of it. The local buses I use tend to be staffed by courteous individuals but there have been a few complaints about drivers on the 61.

Its fully understandable you will get a few bad apples,
but it should also be remembered many probably also don't support the cutbacks

You are probably right Keith .Pity the public Dont sympathise with the drivers .In today’s climate a job is a job but it’s time someone took a stand against a company who doesn’t consider the views of the travelling public. Our Councillors should be taking note of our views.
