Its a terrible thing what happening in Dover never seen such chaos and people so depressed keep going to takeaways to drown out their sorrow.
How many takeaways are thriving in Dover?
If only everyone could be kind and honest what a better world we would be in.

If it's all so bad perhaps you should think about moving to somewhere else?

And barber shops. And nail salons. I'm sure none of these are fronts and are all legitimate going concerns.

Back to pubs - found out that The Roman Quay is owned by DDC (found it when checking their asset register)
Community pub anyone?

Marvellous idea. Instead of paying my Council Tax and DDC simply banking their portion of it, I could spend it in DDC's Quay instead and keep the bar staff in employment.

DDC own the freehold of the Roman Quay because it’s on the ground floor of a block of council flats. The council have owned the block since it was built. In the same way they own the freehold of the Hateway flats building.

I'd love to be proved wrong but I can't really see it.

It only survived because of the personality of the (late) landlord. Halfway between Eagle, Louis and Red Lion it wouldn’t stand a chance now.

I can understand why someone would want to leave. How many of us would stay in Dover if we could easily escape? What is left here?
