The "to let" sign outside the former Burger Bros/Port of call building has been taken down, would be nice to think that it has been taken over and together with Dicken's Corner open for the summer visitors.

The couple at the Boars Head are leaving soon, back to Folkestone.
Did hear that someone to do with the Golden Lion is taking over.

Drove through the actual village of Alkham this morning noticing the Marquis was shut, then just saw this.

Haven't been in there for years, probably since it got posh!

Does anyone have any news on the Admiral Harvey, been past a couple of times recently and nothing seems to be happening inside?

Recently all I have read about the place is people moaning about the four dogs on the property attacking local cats who venture onto the land, nothing else.

The Admiral Harvey has had its hoardings taking down and the front painted.
There’s also notices in the windows, so perhaps it will be re-opening?

The pub formerly known as the Elephant & Hind looks as if it will shortly re-open.

There's a planning application for the Lord Nelson. Isn't it shut?
Installation of balustrade to BK
existing decking, extraction
unit, awning to rear, new
lobby, alterations to existing
rear extension to include
raising the roof, brick
cladding and insertion of
windows. Alterations to
windows and doors (existing
conservatory and rear low
level wall to be demolished)

Opening Friday 12th July at 11am (according to the board outside). It is still called the Elephant & Hind.

Some info from Sheps £
Shepherd Neame is now looking for potential partners
with a vision to re-launch and develop the Lord Nelson
as a café culture bar & restaurant. Subject to planning
and building consent, the pub should be ready to
open in November 2019.

Any idea why the Red Lion's lion isn't red any more?

It was the Red Lion's "Grand Opening" yesterday. It was doing a roaring (i.e. noisy) trade last night at 10 when I walked past with the dog!

Anyone know what's happening with the Admiral Harvey? Will it ever reopen.

Apparently the new landlord/landlady of the Red Lion are 21/19 (or something like that).
Dunno about the sign. Perhaps faded in the sun?
Noticed recently that the Bull pub sign has disappeared completely.
