Vic's comment and Keith's assumption just shows how rumours start which can cause an unnecessary and unwanted drop in trade.
The pub is up for sale as a going concern there is no mention of it closing or trying for change of use.

I went to a wake in the Diamond many years ago. It was in what appeared to be the snooker room. The landlady came in with a tray full of mugs, mine said "Happy Birthday"!

Used to drink in there when they hosted the 'Leek and Onion Club' many years ago. Nice pub but a bit out of the way.
