What about the Primrose Inn? We used to call it the Ponderosa, there was often a fight going on!

The Prim was OK when it had good landlords. Pete Bessant's Dad way back when and Louis Napier in the late 70's. It could be a violent place sometimes, to be sure. I was only an occasional visitor to Dover in those days but I soon learned that, if you were going on pub crawl, it was probably best to put the Primrose amongst the first you visited.

The Prim was alright if you was a local,I can remember years back they had a chalked sign outside saying "come in for a cold beer and a warm welcome",coming up Coombe valley road one night my mate rubbed the chalk out and changed it to "a warm beer and a cold welcome.

I wasn't a regular by any stretch of the imagination but I struggle to remember any quiet nights in The Regent, Vic. Were you being ironic perchance?
