AKA The Hole In The Wall iirc. Due to the entrance being set back inside the arch.
It's seared into my mind because I once avoided being possibly killed by a car by dodging into that alcove.
It used to have a huge collection of enamel faces on the wall inside. There's a word for them but I can't recall it right now.
Became either Deals Of Dover or that second hand toy shop (whatever it was called. Toys Around Again possibly?). Both now also sadly gone.

Was that the one that eventually became a toy shop?

In East Cliff there was the ‘First and Last, but what was the other pub there, it had model aeroplanes hanging from the ceiling? Can. Anyone remember?

There was a third pub on that stretch of Tower Street, the Havelock Arms was the other one which closed in the mid-70's.

All 3 are still recognisable as pubs if you look at Streetview.
