Not lack of interest or fedupness. It started at 1600 and finished at about 1800, many of those who may have wanted to attend have work to attend and businesses to run and were unable to make the meeting time on a Tuesday afternoon.

Here is what one of the DDC planning officers said on twitter after the meeting [DTIZ latest - public request information - large signs to be erected at site - 'Move along please, nothing going on here'] - even he seems uninterested!

We might have known, definitely Bob's humour.

Ah, Bob Frost - a councillor, not a DDC planning officer then. Bob is rather famous for his caustic cynicism and a somewhat controversial sense of humour. Just his wit then, not necessarily an indication of his interest or lack of.

This doesn't rule them out of opening somewhere else in the town, rather surprised they haven't so far.

Wilkinson will not come to Dover as they have stores in Canterbury and Folkestone, I know this because a couple of years ago I suggested in an email they should take the old Sainsbury shop near the Charlton Centre.

On a lighter note some very colourful new "Muriels" are adorning the outer perimeter of the site.

Not a great fan of street art but some of it looks very clever.

Oh dear, I wonder how many people still get sucked in by this stuff from DDC. Every Christmas or pending election they leak one of these feel good rumours about dtiz. I am guessing they still haven't had a decision on the CPO back yet.

I hope you are right Howard those shops would definitely keep people in Dover for shopping. H&M have a great range of well priced clothing for all the family. Their baby clothes are lovely.

Sorry but I would have to see them up and open. Like Mr Heart till it happens it is just a election rumour to get votes, The D.D.C. must take the blame in the way most of us are thinking each year they print out Its all going to happen soon but it never does.

Lifted straight from H&M annual statement. Guess it isn't them!
"Our stores should always be in the best locations for business. By leasing store premises instead of owning them we remain flexible in a constantly evolving retail landscape, and can make sure we are represented in the most attractive streets and shopping centres in all our markets."

I assume this will all depend on the CP orders going through.
