11:3313584But consultations have taken place Bern and people have been given choices - like whether they felt ASB or Tourism was more important - the majority plumped for ASB (as you'd probably expect) so more emphasis and money was put into that.
I'm sorry Chris I disagree (still) with your interpretation of whether/when a play area is closed and we'll have to continue to disagree.
Why should it be the sole responsibility of the District Council ?

11:4313586As we know from experience, when young, that when 'a playarea' is closed kids will get in, its what they do, I did. When damaged equipment is removed the area ie grounds should be made safe to limit injuries.

19:4113649That money was Section 106 money, not DDC money and it wasn't £300,000 Vic.

19:4613650Hope this weather doesn't delay work at Elms Vale too much.
I understand that the pouring of that cushion flooring is not possible when it is wet.
As a matter of interest, that flooring alone can cost in the region of £120 a square metre - goes to show how much these facilities cost.

20:5013666Howard money we get from developers, they have to pay the Council to build and then the Council decide where to spend the money.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

09:1313702There have been two developments along the Folkestone Road that have been appropriate for Section 106 money - the old Webbs Hotel and the Mildmay.
One I believe was about £75,000, but can't remember how much was asked for the other one - that's if section 106 money was actually asked for.
Checks are being made as to whether 106 money was in fact requested and if so where it is; don't forget that the money is not due until the development is completed.
With the current economic climate and credit crunch, these are very difficult times and the normal valuation of 106 money may have to be reduced to a tiny percentage of what it normally would be.

You may recall the clarendon play area was removed with the full intent of replacing it soon after.
We are many years down the road now, and the council has said it has set aside dosh for the ply aea(not connected to 106 planning agreements at all)
I presume now Roger your saying the council is not longer standing by its words that the dosh is there in council coffers, im interested, so wot happened to that dosh?
On the 106 agreement it became very complicated because if the play area was on the houses being built site, it would only havee been for residents of those new houses, so a play area would be in community but not able to be used by the local community.
more complications arose when it was suggested the applicant doing the building pay towards a site in another part of the ward, again would they do it? how long before someone builds on westmount? who will maintain it?
My understanding when i last spoke to officers was not dosh but where to site it, some sites were suggested and sadly rejected.
even had site meetings(2) that i recall all saying yep goig to happen soon.
I don't now expect it to happen, so it wil be a bonus if it does, but as iv said in other posts, clarendon went, the site AT MOUNT ROAD is to close
very few around.
there you have it
over to you chris

17:0513735I THINK THE BLUES AND THE D.D.C. are diging themself into a very big hole on this one ,best for them to just own up to what happen to the funds.

19:4413754No one ios digging holes Vic - I've been trying to tell you how it is.
Keith - yes I do remember it closing, but there was not a decision to open it soon after; open it yes, but when money (section 106) was made available.

when you say that there are/were two developments on the folkestone road that are/were appropriate for section 666 money, does this gobbledegook mean that money changed hands from the developers to our district council?
if this is the case, how much and where is it now?
