I haven't heard anything bad about the Fair yet, so it must be going ok? My two teens went the other day and had a great time

I think a debate should take place around .....
I understand DD council a few agencies and the police together with one Cllr banned the fair .
How can this be right excluding 31 elected cllrs ?
Reasons given
Anti social behaviour
Cutting grass up .
Future upgrade of pencester
Do let's take those three in order
I'm unaware the fair is any worse than any other time of the year .
Of course anti social behaviour , I wonder how much could be proved to be anything to do with fair .
I recall some years ago the police wanting to close a particular night club
The day before the hearing they released a statement giving in there opinion 89 reasons why the nightclub should go .
All of them didn't relate to the nightclub
An example was a particular person was walking past the nightclub that morning !
This was pre judging the application anyway and the nightclub kept the licence because the police couldn't find reason for it to close .
If the grass is cut up ,I understand the fair puts in a retainer for damage so why wasn't that kept ?
Upgrading
Ok that's fine but it has showed people like the fair
And DDC had said once upgraded the fair is no longer welcome !

I think anything that widens the gene pool in Dover should be encouraged.

I fear that DDC will do what they usually do, consult, engage, tick a box, then ignore and do what they want anyway.
Someone somewhere will know exactly what is planned, they just need to go through the motions to justify doing what they want.
Transparent local and national government is a fairy tale!

I walked through Pencester after the fair had left and the damage was much less than I expected.

Awful news and my condolences to the family.

As ever all the usual hearsay accounts in all the media.
Until the HSE & Coroner release their findings I will reserve judgement & comment only that my condolences go out to the parents of the child who died & to his friends who witnessed it, as it will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

I agree Ross, but sadly speculation will always raise its head when basic accurate information is withheld.
