About a month or so back i witnessed Brian indulging in social intercourse with Cllr Rapley in Market Square with people milling about. We cannot accuse all councillors of being stand offish.

Always a bugbear for small businesses who still have to pay to have their rubbish taken away and now large increases are on the way which will be damaging to our town centres.

Noticed earlier work going on inside the former "Goodfillas" cafe, I don't remember seeing any planning application go through.

Until the shops are relocated from the Town Hall downwards to the Market Square there will always be empty shops.Keep the shops from Beaconsfield to Cherry Tree which forms a community. These shops should have decent accomodation above.
Both councils should be working towards this. Those seeking election should concentrate on this .We donot want leaflets blaming each other. Our MP wants less selfies and work to make it easy for businesses to relocate.
These are just not my personal views but many young and old whom I speak to.DTIZ will not do its job until this way forward is recognised.Dover has had many grants over the years but it's never seems to be spent wisely.

Shops can be empty, but they need not be filthy and disgusting.
My thermometer as to how good any of our Councillors are, or will be.
How effective Love Dover is.
How wisely any money is spent.
Will be when the three shops, alongside Gala Bingo, and opposite Marks and Spencer's.
Are cleaned up and made easy on the eye.
Truely, they are a disgrace.

Noticed the new Kebab shop on London road was open today, for those that dont know its where the old Central cafe used to be.Looked quite busy when i went by.I know we,ve more than enough takeaways in town especially on London road but i,d rather see it open and doing business than empty.I hope its worthwhile for the new owners. The shop looks clean and tidy, much better than the old one that briefly opened there.

The closed "Port Of Call" in the Market Square has new signs up today to open as - "The Burger Bros."
The former RSPCA shop in Cannon Street is destined for ..... you guessed it ....... another Nail Bar.

Burger Bros ran it last Summer for a while and was a great success doing deliveries of food as well as sit down meals. From what they have said it will again just be seasonal.

I assume it's just opening as a food outlet and not a bar too? If so, I can't see it lasting very long.

Will still be a bar, the food side will be run separately.

The Dovorian Cafe will re-open tomorrow after new frontage is installed, cutting it fine with between 10 and 12 blokes cracking away this morning.
