Weird Granny Slater wrote:Second Sunday running a kingfisher on Barton path section of Dour. Last week flashed down river to cover near Charlton Ave. Today between Limes Road and school playground. No pic; too quick.
I have also had a couple of kingfisher glimpses along Barton Path in the last couple of weeks. First time for years I've seen one. I may have exclaimed, "oh, wow", out loud!

Not exactly wildlife, but have just seen a man walking his cat along Harold Street.

We once had a cat called Nimrod who would accompany us on our walks through the woods.

I have never seen one but thought it would be a lovely to see this large unusual violet bee when on walks or in the garden, apparently about 3cm and not at all dangerous. The Xylocopa violacea carpenter bee

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Saw this on the coast path yesterday by the Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club. A very hairy caterpillar.

Possibly, but the fox moth caterpillar images I have found are different colours and quite a bit smaller than this chap.

They vary in colour, some more orange, and grow up to 3" give or take. Probably not long out of hibernation, so older and duller.

Its hairs made the dog smart when he sniffed it! When I saw him jump back I decided not to pick it up.

Wanted to enjoy the evening sun and just walked up the Roman Road to Guston and saw a couple of rabbits and a fox. They must have got confused with their clocks, or are ill

I do feel for the crane fly. 10mths underground eating and avoiding being eaten then a month as a pupae to emerge in the late summer/early autumn for a quickie if they're lucky, and a quick death thereafter.
He's probably screaming through the window"WHY"

Funny you should say that. I looked closely at its head for signs of Vincent Price, as I was sure I could hear a small voice crying 'Help me! Help me!'
