Life is like a Business, it has to have bosses, middle management and workers.
Workers can't work without bosses, bosses can't work without workers, and middle management can't work with out either.
All we have to do is get the balance and respect right.
The difference between me and say, BarryW, is that when things go wrong, he would sack some menials but I would tell the rich shareholders to get stuffed.

SUE
Whilst we may agree on many things and I respect your view, your have got it badly wrong on the benefits system.
NO PARTY (AS iv posted many times on here) has any plans to make radical changes to the benefits system.
If, sue you are in cloud land then you will be disappointed so just be clear,
a LABOUR/LIB DEM/tORY
WILL not be making any major changes in this direction.
Sid - my pleasure!

Keith on the Politics show at noon today ,David Cameron was answering questions put to him members 0f the public. .I think he was actually saying people should be encouraged to work and if they did not accept employment the benefits would stop.
I understand people receiving benefits if they are sick long term ,but lets get it straight if there is no job locally one should consider a move .Jobs are not always close to home
With put upsetting people from the mining community isnt that what the miners did when they came to East Kent for work
.
Sue - with all possible respect it is not that simple. Who will pay for re-location? It is not cheap, and consider the fracture in relationships for the kids at schools....My Old Man moved for work (choice) when I was pregnant with our youngest and we had thought we were settled near to family and schools - I had to arrange the sale of our house (a house and garden I loved, BTW) , look after the remaining 3 kids, have the fourth (!) and run the household while arranging the move away from family to an unfamiliar environment - which I had to try to make exciting and fun for the kids . We did it, and it was right, but it wasn't easy. The fact that it was just the oldest at school (I still think moving at that point did her no good at all) and that I am a bit of a battleaxe helped, but for many it just isn't that simple!!
Even now I work at distance from home (my work is not really local stuff) because we like it here and the kids are settled. It would be easier, in fact, if the Old Man and I simply re-located to London. But apart from cost, the family are settled here, and we love Dover!

Yes Sue, it wasn't a myth, many Miners and their Families did walk down here from up north and look how they got treated, ostracised and segregated and eventually discarded by the Tories, to bring the unions to heal.
Or do you mean our brickies, chippies & labourers from up north? This is how the song went:
"We had no way to stay afloat, we had to leave on a ferry boat, economic refugees, on the run to Germany. We had the back of Maggie's Hand, times were tough in Geordie land"

Yeah but Gary, I thought we'd establsihed the Kent miners' gaffed when they followed the other lambs to Scargill's slaughter, and yet you still blame those who were ready to take you on. If Scargill had held his ego in check, you may still have some mining jobs today. I don't know why you keep blaming those who didn't roll-over.

do try to keep up sid, gary has already posted that the kent miners went on strike of their own volition.
they informed arthur scargill of their decision, not the other way around.
It might be a bit naive to think Thatcher would not have found a way to throttle the union even without Scargills ego.

Sue
Could you please confirm your source of research when you claim that all single unemployed mothers with absent fathers vote labour in order to ensure that their benefits are unaffected by a change of govt.
Talk about generalisation and stereo-typing you really take the biscuit. My blood is boiling at your ill informed, misjudged and bias comments.

The truth hurts .You must expect comments like this we are now in or coming up to an election period .Marek my comments are not generalised dont sit there making judgements on my views .Its a well known fact over the last twenty years or more girls are getting pregnant at an earlier age .You can except that one child might come along but when its a case of several with absent fathers the question will be raised .
More family breakups .Single parents . its the norm .Parents no longer have to support their off springs if a child comes along ,the state will pay .
We have become a nanny state and too dependant on benefits .Political correct .There are genuine cases but something is sadly wrong when the largest slice of state spending is the benefit budget .
Yes the Conservatives will make a difference .We will bring back some of the pride .

Garry ,Bern been there have the T shirt .My late husband was made redundant twice in his short life .He moved away several times .I was left at home with the children .
This only served for me to become stronger .Garry ,when we had the Miners strike and the Seamans I donated money and food to support the children .Conservateves are not all bad or toffs .

Answer the question...how do YOU know that all 'these' single mothers vote Labour in order to maintain their status quo on benefits?.

Also, I suspect the Miners would have preferred work to charity. Of course we will sit in judgement on your comments - this is a forum!! You are a politician with controversial views! What are you expecting??!! I have taken issue with your prejudices before and expect to do so again!!
