Surprised no one has picked up lack of ferry capacity due to Fleets reductions is a major part of freight tailbacks. Accept seasonal pressures also play into the problem.

Reginald Barrington wrote:'The Tory party is now so far to the right' you need to stop reading the Guardian its clouding your vision.
You do understand Ray most on here and all the other social media platforms don't really care that much about Brexit, but enjoy watching remainers vent their spleen to all and sundry
So the likes of Major, Heseltine, Clarke and the recent expulsions or personae non grata like Hammond, Gawke and Grieve can all be dismissed as Guardian readers can they?
I was expecting a response of some kind from the unrepetent Brexiteers but that's pretty vacuous even by your standards, Reggie. But then again, if you care so little then why respond at all? Oh I know. You speak for the majority on here and 'all the other social media platforms' don't you?
Sooner or later I suspect that the penny will drop even for you. Brexit is a massive act of self-mutilation. If you climb down from your cloud and look at how the rest of the world regards us for this folly, then you might begin to understand. But like I said, it's always easier to con someone than convince them that they have been conned afterwards.

I didn't find it so; two quick examples: a No Deal Brexit means
- congestion (wrong - all forms of Brexit carry that risk)
- the EU
may impose tariffs on UK goods (wrong - it is obliged to).
And I couldn't get my head around "85% of foods imported from the EU will face tariffs of more than 5%, while the average tariff on food imported from the EU would be over 20%" (but it's my bedtime).

I think it's more the casual attitude To it all.
Boris tried to sell this that he would never go for a no deal , something he campaigned upon , and kept repeating.
Now, a complete u turn .
.these u turns, just given people lack of faith in the government and politicians in general

Yeah. Right. The only bait taker on here is you, Reggie. As soon as anything remotely factually critical is written which goes against your devotion to a Tory Brexit, you just can't stop yourself wading in with your characteristic sneering and avoidance of the facts. Project reality, Reggie - that's what is happening now.

Re the post from PaulSurely most local people knew the effect cutting the fleet would have on Dover.?
I sometime watch KCC meetings and they state they are not completely prepared for Brexit .I think they are more concerned poor souls on getting a redundancy pay out when the stand down or get defeated at the next execution in May .Before you all start shouting yes I did get an allowance as a DDC Councillor which Paul ensured we did not get a pay rise and indeed once a reduction .I always gave back to the community in many ways ,I have just heard the Duke of Yorks roundabout blocked .My friends could not get to the their swimming lesson .I do question why so many local people go out every day shopping .They must know how congested the roads are .Yes travelling to work a must but popping up to Whitfield or into Dover ?..
I can assure Paul worked tireless for the district .I think a few ears would have had an ear bashing .by now .In politics you. Can’t be the nice guy all the tine and hard decisions have to be made .How long has Brexit. Been going on.How long have we had ferries packed with lorries going to and fro .Forget the silly ideas and get that traffic moving .

Sue Nicholas, [quote]. I think they are more concerned poor souls on getting a redundancy pay out when the stand down or get defeated at
the next execution in May .[unquote].
When did this all start Sue and when was the last one? Sounds a bit harsh to me!

When I did an interview with BBC Southeast today.. only a little bit was used. The interviewer and cameraman were very surprised how close Dover TAP lorry queue was to houses at Aycliffe. They did not know how much pollution and noise from lorry horns we have to put with.. yet no one seems to have the guts in authority to say enough is enough and move Dover TAP back up the hill away from Aycliffe..
