The EU must be loving this situation with our Government so divided, today we have Amber Rudd saying that no deal is unacceptable whilst David Davis and Liam Fox say it is. I've forgotten the latest position the PM takes and as for Boris Johnson who now says the leaving payment is too high at £100 billion, what does he now think is reasonable?

Further delay meaning the Brexit bill is unlikely to be voted through in the Spring as previously expected.

Complete dead end now and we can't even blame Cruella, Charlie said yesterday that we cannot pay a leaving bill without knowing what we would get for it. This is all about revenge from the bureaucrats against Dave giving us a Referendum and they don't really care about the massive job losses here and on the continent, after all they have presided over 40 - 50% youth unemployment in Southern Europe for years.
The chaos in Kent and the Nord Pas De Calais is of little interest to those who fly club class on business and pleasure.

The penny has finally dropped with the EU as any cliff edge departure would be disastrous for all 27 countries, however the PM has agreed that we will have to pay them off due to our "obligations". I fully expect that we will pay no less than £50 billion and be told that it is a fair amount.

I think it more like she has agreed to pay them off, Howard.

#997 & #996 are quite accurate in my opinion. I don't like it though.

Myth busting article here by Sunday Telegraph columnist Liam Halligan on WTO rules, Project Fear's latest misinformation drive:-

Fine; WTO rules also have the benefit of not requiring certificates of origin and scrutiny of the proportion of non-originating components/ingredients. It's also the case that yer average WTO customs duty rate pales into insignificance with 20% VAT on pretty much everything. And it's also the case that boxports cope pretty well with border processes.
The problems start when one applies 'Felixstowe' or 'Rotterdam' processes to the Dover Straits ports - as I'm sure DDC is aware, having two on its patch.

Of course, there is rarely such a thing as free money and the WTO tariffs collected have to come from somewhere - typically the consumer.

the Torys will be out of office if they hand over big cash to the EU.
and they will get the blame for not funding projects that could have been funded with the big cash they will give the EU

There will be Brexit Brian, but perhaps not the one most people voted for.
I fear Mrs May doing a "Cameron", coming back from Brussels telling us that we've got a good deal when in fact we've got bugger all. Probably settle for approx. fifty billion or so with other "hidden" payments over a number of years until the EU blackmailers actually get what they want.
Sorry, but I'm one of those that believe the EU won't ever give us anything resembling a fair deal, they never have and never will, it's not in their nature, old habits die hard eh?
Hope I'm wrong though!

Can't blame the EU for their bullying tactics John when our leaders are so weak. Cast your mind back three years when it was decided that we should pay them 2 or 3 billion pounds surcharge as our economy was stronger(mainly through austerity and cuts in public services). Dave and George were up In arms but needless to say that when the heat died down the money was paid.

Yes Howard, remember that very clearly. Your quite right, our politicians are for some strange reason always a soft touch and therein lies the problem I guess. And they wonder why there's little respect for our betters in Westminster nowadays!

Some interesting comments from the National Audit Office of the problems our port will face change unless the Government comes to terms with the fact that new IT systems and extra trained staff will be needed if no trade deal is reached with the EU. There just isn't the space to carry out thorough checks on vehicles.

Watched a bit of that Andrew Marr show earlier and the Spanish foreign minister was assuring UK residents in Spain that their future was secure there. Not surprising as many run businesses that employ local people and most of the others are retired and spending their UK pension there.
Similarly it would be foolish of us not to guarantee residency here to those that make a positive contribution to our society.

For Heaven's sake, Brits have been living in Europe and Europeans in the UK long before the EU was even dreamed of. What we will 'miss' is unskilled/semi-skilled labour emigrating/immigrating.
