Just announced and I am already fed up with the conjecture and waffle as whoever wins will probably do nothing that will benefit my family.
To use the old expression the winner will rob Peter to pay Paul.

At least we get shot of Natalie Elphicke earlier than expected.

Who is the Conservative candidate? Is there time for the selection process to complete before the deadline?

Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.

Well, there we have it, folks. One of the many interesting things to look out for over the next six weeks is the right wing media - do they jump on the Labour bandwagon and try and influence policy, or dig in with the Tories? Furious Tory backbenchers is always a glorious sight.
Farage to stand in Dover? Although that would be bonkers in my view. Being an MP would tie him up in rules and regulations, limiting his reach. We'll see.

Unless there is some real news shattering event we will have no idea what is happening in the world. Maybe a good time to start a new any topic but politics thread on here.
If this morning is anything to go by the guessing, speculation and waffle will dominate our various news outlets Normally at this time of day I would be watching Breakfast, thank goodness I can listen to music on Smooth etc or catch on all my TV recordings for the next few weeks.

That's why Jan the politics page was taken away from the general forum so you don't have to view it!

Keith but you can also combine forums so I get the best and worst
out of this group. A lot of political posts are very interesting and informative while some just like the sound of their own voice.
If you had bothered to read my complete post properly prior to your one liner you would have realised I was referring to outside of this small forum to the national media.

I was surprised that Sky Bet is offering 8/13 on the Lib Dems winning over 40 seats (though 3/1 on over 60).

If you want to know 'what's happening', then UK media (even NM's imaginary 'right wing media') is the last place you'll find it.

I understand that Rosie Duffield was not invited to Labour’s election launch in Kent, despite being a Kent MP

Can't see lib dems getting over 40 seats
I wonder if reform party will do well?
Farrage preferring to campaign for Trump says a lot for his belief in reform party lol

I never realised that John Redwood had been born in Dover to a local accountent and his wife who managed a shoe shop!
Living in a council house one wonders whether his parents would have been able to afford private education at Kent College Canterbury under class-warrior Keith Starmer's plan to charge VAT on school fees, before becoming an Examination Fellow at All Souls Oxford.
Rishi Sunal was of course another from humble beginnings whose parents invested in his education.
Keith Starmer himself attending the selective state Reigate Grammar School, which became a private school while he was a student.
Personally I can't wait for the rise of the mediocracy rather than the meritocracy!

Had enough of the election already. The build-up should be 5 days not 5 weeks.
