Our first election communique arrived today. I say 'our' but it was in fact addressed to the other half, who presumably fits some kind of profile. Anyway, I fished it out of the bin and found it was from Labour, that nice Mike Tapp. Apparently, and he says this twice, he is 'already fighting for you, pressing this Government to get a grip before it's too late'.
Splendid stuff, what a breath of fresh air he is to be sure. I'm all agog to see what the other candidates come up with.

Vote for Geoff Lymer - he has an excellent track record of working hard for Dover. An Independent MP will work for the constituents and the constituency. A Party candidate will ALWAYS put the Party before the needs and wishes of the constituents.

Well I shall vote Labour this time.Geff is a lovely chap worked with him for years .Penny James also a lovely person. If we want a change from the Conservative regime we have to vote Labour.I started my political career when I lived in Slough in the sixties.
We now have a Labour Council in Dover and Deal. With food banks being used in Dover .Children relying on breakfast clubs .Rough sleepers so it goes on.The list goes on.

Hm, well, a leaflet from them yesterday told me not to vote Lib Dem or Green, but only Conservative or Labour. Bossy, no?

I seldom see these propaganda leaflets as my daughter puts them in the bin as soon as they come through the door. Do I feel I am missing anything important? Not at all.
I saw that awful Rayner woman again this morning, if Labour win, which is looking increasingly likely, should anything happen to Starmer the thought that she could become PM fills me with horror.

There's to much opposition parties reporting each other during elections
With the only real interest to remove a candidate

As I am not going to vote, maybe I am wrong in saying anything ,but if only if there is a strong number of members of the small partys and independence we will see the reds getting in with about 100 seats or even more and I feel that will be bad for the UK.because the opp0sition will not be able to stop the reds passing any laws etc which the public feel is not good for the UK.

Well, leaving aside the fact that a lot of people would have voted Red (presumably having worked out and agreed with what they stand for), this scenario is a product of our First Past The Post system. We did have a national referendum on whether or not to change it, if you recall, and a majority said "no, it's cool, let's keep it". So that's all right then.

Post 135 has it wrong
If lots of Indies stand its likely to reduce Labour's majority letting the Tories in a few seats

The minor parties and Independents are often supported by those who feel they should vote but for whatever reason will not vote for either Labour or Tory.
Thinking about the betting fuss, the simple answer is in future not to allow election bets in any form, maybe then the gambling companies would have something to actually complain about.

Who would hAve thought we would see the Tories in daily scandals .
The leaders debate Sunak looked bad interrupting Starmer.
Although Starmer didn't look impressive
