Will Corbyn win in Islington ?
Shame the other parties don't tactical vote just to prove a point.
Think because so many candidates will let Labour off the hook .

I wonder how many of the MPs not seeking re-election, 117 so far, are afraid they would loose their seat.
At least Craig Mackinlay has a genuine alternative reason.

When it looks like Tories with big memories could lose seat
No wonder they jump ship.
Many can't stand being the main opposition if they survive that far

I wonder if part of the plan to go early was to make sure Farage couldn't stand....

Yup. And to wrong foot Richard Tice & Reform UK. And it worked.
The problem is that Labour have had, in the main, either PPCs in place (Like Mike Tap) softening up the constituency with a superb New Media campaign (He's turning up on my TV whenever I watch YouTube (!) as well as having content on Twitter/Facebook) BEFORE the election was called and before spending limits are imposed or sitting MP's who are almost bound to be re-elected as long as they say the 'right' thing about Gaza.
The Conservatives have a load of MPs who have jumped ship at the last minute leaving over 130 constituencies trying to find an 'approved candidate' who could point out Dover on a map of England (a bit like 'our' Charlie did putting 'our' Natalie forward) + a load of half-mad local politicians who stupidly think their time has come.

But if we are going to get the same old lukewarm tory policies under Labour is it worth the change?
Starmer should be honest and say he won't let Abbott stand , the NEC of Labour party bedevilled with Starmer supporters he's well aware of outcome

The Tories have since 2010 been a New Labour government, doing much of Labour's work for it.
Your 'lukewarm tory policies' (especially foreign and social policies) are New Labour policies.
With Labour, you'll have New Labour policies warmed up to the max, and boiling over.

I would prefer New Labour to the far left side that allowed the far Right Tories to get elected. Middle ground for the majority of people is usually best in any fight.

New Labour are 'far left'. The Tories are not 'far right'.
That famous 'middle ground' has moved in a leftwardly direction.

I much preferred the LibDems being run by a piss-head or a dog-murderer than Coco the Clown.

I'd let Abbott stand as a Labour candidate - she has the whip back and a significant majority, so why not? Certainly if there is room for Elphicke, there's room for Abbott.
I don't know much about the other two, to be honest.

Neil
Be careful if Starmer gets to hear your not agreeing with he could expel you lol
Although with the labour dep leader now coming out in support of Abbott being able to stand , what will Starmer do ?
I still think he won't let her stand .
Labour certainly isn't a left wing party any more (weird )
