Brian
There are as I say 2 parts to this
1 labour has such an uphill task to win back , as I say
Scotland , the Norf etc your just hoping they will all vote for Starmer .
2 A lot of people don't want the Tories , but also don't want a Blair mark 2
So that's where the major opposition problems lie.
As unpopular as our Boris is people don't trust Starmer either .
They have 25 years to rebuild though .

Weird Granny Slater wrote:The test for Labour as an opposition will be next month when the 'lockdown' 'restrictions' come up for review in parliament. If it nods through the extension this clueless, despotic gaggle in government is looking for, as it did with the initial March power grab, then we'll know it hasn't the balls for a fight. (As a bonus, we'll also find out how many Tory MPs are actually conservatives.)
So, that's a dismal fail. I do understand, however, that Sir Keir has passed his 'unconscious bias training' with flying colours (as it were).
(P.S. Turns out there are a mere 7 conservatives in the HoC, and that number doesn't include Mrs Elphicke.)

So to sum up, in the left corner we have a big Labour win in a 5/2021 General Election vs in the right corner no Labour win before 2045. Hm, I can picture it now, something along the lines of...

Well, as someone famously said, 25 years is a long time in politics. Although, personally speaking, I often find that 5 minutes of politics feels like a long time.

Just seen the list of candidates the Conservatives are putting up for County.
Excellent to see plenty of fresh faces in there. About time we got away from the usual suspects with no fresh ideas who rely on us suplimenting their pensions and paying for their lifestyles.
Glad also to see that KCC are giving those losing seats a few hundred quid to pay their Golf Club fees as the gravy train hits the buffers.

Such a proposal will drive even more people to despise the self important publicity seeking councilors.

BASIC allowance £15,491 for turning up occasionally at Maidstone.
For comparison 40 hours a week for 52 weeks a year on min wage of £8.72 = £18,147.60.

What a disgusting idea.i really question these people .They had a pay increase three years ago.If they loose their seats probably because they have not served their community well.
