Given that UK labs are currently only processing around 65,000 tests per day, thousands of test are being sent to German & Italian labs and in excess of 100,000 tests a week are being invalidated due to poor labeling, sealing or storage that all hardly adds up to a "world beating" system.
And just saying what about the 5m (yes FIVE MILLION) test missing between what the government claims have been issued and the actual results reported by labs

So let's s return to the main opposition
If you get the comments around the words rubbish
Without explanation , shows that some posters have head in the clouds.
Without doubt the clock is ticking for Boris hes looking awful and the more he's under scrutiny the more he's unable to answer
But that was never in doubt.
What others are looking for is an opposition that will look after the needs of us all.
Starmer has shown incapable on that score.
People don't want to be rid of the Tories just to put on a second rate Tory party like the Blair years.
And this is the thing that is going to give them the most problems.
As iv pointed out before
They can move to the right as they are presently doing and go on suspending the very members it's needs to get it elected , and move away from freedom to speak openly .
But that won't get them elected.
They , as iv said have to win back Scotland (unlikely)
Wales(unlikely) up Norf(will win some seats back but not enough .
I used to have to travel to South Wales a lot and to show how Labour has lost the faithful voter I explain .......
LLanelli used to be rock solid Labour , so much so
The Tories didn't even stand candidates in some council seats , over each election because they were not active and relied solely on people just voting for them , independents started to get elected, and now now from having a few independents to today labour just holding on to control and lost in boundary changes that showed how people just stopped voting for them even in the heartlands .
I'm sure this was also seen up Norf
And labour will blame Brexit .
But if labour doesn't come close at next election I think they could be out for some time.
If they can't beat a govt like the one today, and instead concentrate on suspending members ,
They we can all look forward to 25 years of the present shambles to continue .

Labour won't come close at the next General Election and will be out for the next 25 years; I'm sure I've read it on here!

One thing is sure, Boris Johnson is on borrowed time. The Tories won't put up with this for much longer and you can see how frustrated they all are. It'll end up with it's either Cummings or us.

Without doubt Boris could soon be for the chop
But they the Tories will weigh this up against an ineffective main opposition so no real hurry to change
And the problems with changing will only split the party

KS, you obviously haven't seen the news. Sir Keir has a slogan: 'A New Leadership'. Three little words that'll galvanise the forces of good, hearten the disaffected, lift the weary chins of the disillusioned, energise the apathetic, and spread shivers of fear down the strong and stable, but flexible, spines of the evil-doers. This is the birth of a radical, genuine and distinct opposition. I see the socialist sun rising over the dark capitalist land, and the communitarian wave breaking over the individualist beaches. I see Sir Keir, the people's champion, slaying enemies like a reaper cutting the crop, and gorging on nay-sayers like Polyphemus feasting on the Odyssean invaders...
Mind you, my coffee grounds can be a little off, especially if they've been marinated in cheap whisky.

Sir Keir, you obviously haven't been reading this forum. Boris had a slogan: 'Get Brexit Done', three little words that strengthened the faint-hearted, supported the weak and helped the afflicted (allegedly), but KS1 is adamant that you won't be leading this country anytime in the next 25 years. So I'd put your feet up and sleep. Perchance to dream.

We have the next few years to get Corbyn out of the system. Some are finding it difficult to move on, but they must and they will. It's either this shambles, or Starmer's Labour party. There's no other option.
I am absolutely convinced that Starmer has the compassion of Corbyn, but the political pragmatism to actually get elected and implement the Labour agenda.

BD, I admire your tenacity, but fail to see how a 'stance' can race anywhere. It would surely fall over before it had time to warm up.

I have a rather simple view that life is generally cyclical, and this feels like it's going to be a rerun of 1997 at the next GE. By then, I think the public would have had enough of the Tories and it'll be time for change.
From the Labour viewpoint, right now, purists are still coming to terms with the transition from Corbyn to Starmer, but that'll pass and there is plenty of time for it to do so.
