A lot of MP s are unknown before the are elected..This chap maybe outside of the area but he has a few months to get established.I have read some of his jottings.I think he will certainly give Natalie a run for her money .Lots of local Councillors donot always live in the area they represent .At the last DDC elections there was a lot of switching of wards.

Ah of course Keith as neither you or I are members of the Labour Party we don't get a say in who they select as their PPC.
So whilst I respect your right to hold an opinion on this. in the circumstances you probably ought to have kept it yourself as it is irrelevant (as is my equally valid opinion).

Keith I would add that given neither of us is a member of any of the major political parties we dont get a say on any of the candidates or for that matter leaders.
Having said that, once they are selected they are then pitching for our vote and we can reasonably opine on what they say & do as can everyone else

As the subject of this possible candidate has been raised my question is why has nobody provided his identity or is it some huge unexplainable secret?
Until he is made public there is very little reason to discuss him or where he lives on this group.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Not exactly a surprise but my point has been completely missed.
I can not look him up until I know his name, unfortunately the majority of us ordinary people are not in any political inner circle.

Ross
You might have noticed the Labour party HAS selected this guy
So as you say he is looking for everyone's vote between now and the next general election .
You won't be the first on here that I again tell it's all about opinion and quite correct like other posters to highlight this outside the area had now been selected .
Of course as usual Ross you can have an opinion
But mine is just that and although I may not agree with your opinion I defend your right to post it.

Strip away all of the detail, and the question is simple: can this chap take on Natalie? My instinct is yes, he can.

Strong candidate but he is not going to get much help from the local Labour party who are an unorganised collection of misfits.

His FB page is not worth a visit, only the obvious little bit of waffle, but nothing about him or his party.

As unpopular that Naterlie is getting a guy from outside the area probably won't cut it .
Without doubt an uphill task
I have posed a couple of questions on his Facebook page

I respect your opinion Keith but there is no locally based candidate who is up to the job, therefore it was always going to be someone from outside the constituency.
At least Mike Tapp is from Kent and therefore might have a basic grasp of local issues, looking at his tweets since his selection he seems to
a) be taking Natalie to task over immigration & Rwanda
b) taking KCC to task over the cuts in local rural bus services
Whilst I suspect he is a Starmerite & therefore not enough of a socialist for me, if he can make himself a viable alternative to the awful Natalie then I will hold my nose and vote for him at the next election/
