There is no disputing Mrs E . Only looks for publicity, like others before her.
But to encourage seniors to keep on working which appears to being pushed at mo , they shouldn't have worse conditions .
This is general not just this guy

Political decisions (& propoganda) led to the situation where we apparently have a need to encourage people who have either reached state retirement age or have opted to retire early to return to the workforce.
My initial question as one of the latter is why the hell would I want to?
If we decide that it is beneficial to the country & employers then it needs a comprehensive government led solution rather than dragging individual employers through court, especially as the consequences of the courts ruling against individual companies is a huge financial burden on pension funds &/or the dilution of everyone's employer based pensions; but the dilution will be even greater for younger people as you legally cannot reduce pensions in payment.
With regard to healthcare insurance the increased risk of covering older people will lead to higher premiums for all, therefore reducing wages &/or increasing employer costs. Employers need little enough excuse to cut pay & diminish Ts & Cs, all Ms E is doing is giving them a fantastic excuse to do so.

It certainly makes things trickier for pension trustees and their advisors. In this case the potential for significant extra numbers of employees dying in service and thus accruing DIS benefits of x times annual salary is clouded by the question of how many employees will want to continue working and have a spouse/civil partner.

I too availed myself of the opportunity of early retirement and (apart from the odd freelance job) had no intention whatsoever of going back into full time employment.
As far as the specific case that Natalie is championing, I can speak from personal experience. When I joined Eurotunnel, it was when the company was in its infancy, long before the tunnel was opened. The chap in question would have been employed by TML at the time on an entirely separate contract.
The terms of my contract could not have been made clearer - this is the benefits package. If both you (and Eurotunnel!) last to your retirement age, it will cease to apply. I would guess from the biography that he would have been employed directly by ET sometime after 1994. The very same conditions would have applied then.
The whole thing is a farce. If she were genuinely concerned about workers' rights she would not have supported DP World being awarded £25m of our money to run the smugglers' haven that will become the Thames Freeport. I wonder what terms and conditions its employees will be expected to work under?

I actually agree
I left employment early
And loving every minute of it
But I just questioned the differences .
No one should find the need to continue working
Maybe his home life could be why ?
Why a would you want to work to die ?
So many work geezers I knew only knew about work and worked until retirement
Then died as they didn't have anything else in there life !

Maybe she should look at agency workers conditions who work at Eurotunnel.. they get no perks or benefits from Eurotunnel.

What a difference a month makes:
27th April - "I was delighted to secure £45 million to Keep Dover Clear. Now we need to make sure it is spent properly – to improve port infrastructure and local roads alike."
31st May - "We’ve secured £45million of Government funding for road improvements and I’m keen to see that work get underway."
Whereas according to KCC back in January: "It is very much concerned with issues in and around the Port of Dover, to try to improve the fluidity of traffic with security checks more logically arranged, a buffer zone so you can get a lot more queuing traffic off the roads, a doubling of the border control posts and a new exit route."

Does anyone any longer take notice of anything this waste of space and her script writer say? Her once read emails are now deleted from my inbox as soon as I see them, they are just so much twaddle.

The most amusing thing I saw was when she went for a photo opportunities (as she does) in the local P and O dispute on sacking the Dover staff.
Those same staff were booing her and her friend Jeacock
And neither realised!

I do wonder if she really thinks people support her ?
Of course the blue rinse brigade will be wheeled out come the general election , but should she win again Labour won't be able to blame Brexit or Corbyn

The peak summer holiday getaway period is just around the corner.
It’s vital we do all we can to keep our roads clear so residents and local businesses can get on with their daily lives. Much effort has gone into preparations to keep Dover clear and stop holiday getaway gridlock on our local roads.
Glad that things have moved on

In my day they were called prefabs and generally had the usual utilities. Now known as fast build homes, getting 'homes such as these on the ground is very straightforward and has been happening at pace in other areas across the country. Some homes are placed on land that is waiting for regeneration. They can also be put on small parcels of land which isn’t [sic] being used.' Such as that road coming off the B&Q roundabout.

Truly Button, much more copy and pasting like that and you'll receive an OBE in the King's Birthday Honours for services to housing.

We can but hope she has a landslide defeat!
Reminds me of that line from Life of Brian……”what have the Romans ever done for us?”
Surely Dover deserves better.

We need a new blue candidate but a local person or the blues could lose this important seat.
